And what does Sasuke's state of mind have to do with anything? How was he confused? His goal was clear to him, the annihilation of Konoha and it's inhabitants! The same goal that Madara had when he attacked Konoha with the Kyuubi and Hashirama sent him flying!

If anything, Sasuke's latest action to seek counsel from the Hokage is far more mature than Madara's revenge oriented brain! You have no idea what you're talking about.
