Maybe, maybe not. Naruto gave them the will to fight. he showed them his feelings, so it could have to do with Itachi, the Bijuu, his own struggles, etc.

This is what I wanted to happen with Sasuke, damn you Kishi for switching the roles :devil:
Everyone but the fodders and past Hokages (expect Tobirama and Hashirama) knew about Naruto's past.
He showed it every time, yeah maybe not when he was little, but when he was fighting with them (and sasuke at the final valley) he showed all his emo.

It was touching, but not as touching as other moments.
I almost freak'n cried when Itachi died again.
Naruto is my top ten favorite but only jutsu wise.

Most of the shinobi there have no clue about what they were seeing. You figure only 5-10% of the entire sinobi army that saw the flashbacks, could actually attempt to THEORIZE on what they meant. Naruto only showed them glimpses, not the entire meaning (thank god for that, just the glimpses had too many flashbacks). So no, they still don't understand his pain. They only understand his motivation. Theres a difference between the two.

Most likely they have some understanding, or at least seemingly have the concept that there was more to Itachi now.

Though I'd say there are some (his closer friends) who knew a fair deal of his pain already... Probably for sure Sasuke who understands Naruto to a degree and Hinata who's never outlasted him. Probably hence their more understanding looks comparative to shocked ones.

Though fair enough some of the others had understanding faces (Hiruzen, Orochimaru).

I am curious about how much they understood of the flashbacks, and I am curious about how they will react to the one with Itachi.

I am also curious if they only saw those bits and pieces or if they understand the whole story.

I can't speculate as to who under stood what about the shared memory or that one of the last panels showing naruto whoms hair looks a lot like horns ( coughs) ssssageofsixpaths. Or that naruto has shown the ability to share his or the nine tails chakra and that if he can give it why can't he take it all the shinobi given there chakra to naruto that or to the tree. However its all just speculating
