So no Edo Tensei explaination?

Tobirama invented the Edo Tensei technique but as Orochimaru, it was an immoral jutsu and labeled as forbidden jutsu. Tobirama was a Hokage who acted with reason, so surely he had a reason for invented such an immoral jutsu, in some way that would help benefit the village of course.

The flashbacks are over now, I figured it would have been a good time to explain the intent behind Edo Tensei but it doesn't look like Kishi will directly explain now or ever for that matter. Do you think the reason and what motivated Nidaime Hokage to experiment enough to create a jutsu like Edo Tensei? What are some of your thoughts and possible ideas for Tobirama's motivation for creating this technique?

I am very curious about that as well, definitely should've got the story behind it. I want to say maybe Izuna so he could appease Madara, but in the flashbacks before Madara deserted the leaf it seems really unlikely he would ever try to help Madara. Kishi has some explaining, it's too powerful a jutsu to not know. Especially considering every single person says he should never have created it.

And would just divert more time away from the actual story line.
The actual reasoning is not needed considering nobody in the story needs to know precisely why it was created.

for me it looks like hashi died from a battle, for the fact that when he died he was wearing the samurai suit, so im guessing he wants to bring back hashirama for some reason, it might be that. he was the reason why hashi get killed or he killed him :heh:

-Reinforcing Konoha

The former is most plausible as it's most likely tied to the rival of Izuna which would've been a valiant effort to restore peace between the war-torn clans-Senju and Uchiha.

Yeah, as the flashbacks were going on, I thought he would have revived someone for Madara but we can all tell that that would never be the case. Yet Madara knows the hand signs for Edo Tensei, surely Madara, Tobirama, and Edo Tensei have been involved in the past at some point.

Yeah that's definitely possible, that brings up the question. Can you just Edo Tensei a person more than once, however many times you want?

Hmm, it doesn't necessarily suffice for me Lol I guess you can say I'm picky, I'd rather know Tobirama's reason for creating this jutsu because of the effects it's been having on the present time.

That's possible, I could see Tobirama wanting to bring back Hashirama if he felt like he was responsible for his death and felt that Hashirama might have died too early. Tobirama might have felt like he wasn't ready to lead the village.

So you're saying he might have used it to appease the Uchiha clan's fallen members? Interesting, never thought of that. But Tobirama has to sacrifice living people for Edo Tensei. Who would he sacrifice to keep peace?

I think he created it to save lives during war/ create an undead army

Why send out hundreds of your good strong men when you could resurrect the dead ones
And your opponents lost ones. That would also hurt them mentally as its been demonstrated.

Madara already stated that Edo Tensei was created to allow kamikaze-like field sweeping attacks. Since in the narutoverse you always have to give up a life to take back a life, Tobirama labeled it a kinjutsu shortly after creating it.
