So this new Pope Francis opposed legislation back in 2010 by the Argentinian Government which would have allowed same-*** marriage. He also thinks that gays and lesbians adopting children is a form of discrimination against children.

Italian I believe, his parents were Italian and he was born in Argentina

also theirs a billion Catholics in the world, theirs probably more of them then agnostics/atheists but numbers don't mean correct

You know what's annoying in about 10 years time he'll retire or could die. I mean shouldn't they select a pope with a longer life chance or a chance of being a pope for a long time. I mean so people connect with the Pope more and stuff. Or that could be worse getting attached to a pope who either ends up retiring or dying and so they can't accept the next one? Not sure.

I know tomorrow at school teachers will talk and talk and talk and might even hold an assembly for the guy.

the church wouldn't have caught nearly as much flak if they would have just let the ones who did the *** abuse take their punishment instead of transferring them to other areas and covering it up. when the "few tards" include the leaders of the entire religion it makes them all look bad regardless of personal opinions of those billion members.

I wasn't telling you to follow any religion. I happen to think that almost all religions are pretty illogical, irrational, and even immoral.

My point was that you dislike hearing anything negative or critical about your religion. I say these things because your religion has a LOT of negative things about it and things that absolutely need to be questioned and criticized. I used to be a Catholic myself, and I'm glad I no longer am one. The fact that you can't tolerate any criticism at all makes me question why you would belong to such a group in the first place.
