Lawl, you're right though, I was just messing around. They probably disappeared once Madara started sticking the rods in Hashirama, that could have disturbed his chakra. I wouldn't say Hashirama is chill, he seems alert of the situation and with him being in a weakened form, he's gotta be worried about the other shinobi, that's how he is. He can rely on Naruto but even he's having trouble with Maddy's new form. A tired Naruto won't be enough, he's gonna need help.
Yea but he doesn't have that "Oh shit everything is done, no more hope" look on his face. The dude is quite smart and knows what to do (possible foreshadowing to how Naruto will become with enough experience) . So I'm assuming he probably has some plan to end Madara with , it'd be similar to how Madara and Zetsu waited till the right moment with Obito.
And of course by Naruto i mean the people he is leading also

Also, yea that was my initial understanding, but then there is the huge emphasis of Wood clones being superior to shadow clones. I mean even when Hashirama's wood clone got cut in half, he still use Mokuton. But you are probably right though. And it makes sense, but the other thing is, unlike Shadow clones who just poof and go back to the original owner's chakra, wood clones need to merge back.
