Jiraya's novel is great not shameful. If Kishi hadn't rushed things war arc would be the best in Naruto. Things like Madra soloing shinobi alliance, Gokage, Hashirama, Tobirama, Minato, Sasuke, 9 tailed beasts, etc..,.

This family drama shi is so good. Fighting is cool, which we do have, but there's always been fighting in Naruto but not actual family drama (besides Sauce and Itachi which was also always golden in the series)

This is new and a mix up, plus I see a dark ending.

By the way, it's not jiraya's novel that changed Nagao's heart. It made him remember his past self and Yahiko's dream. Also Nagato did not know anything about "The tales of a Gutsy ninja". Naruto's words made him remember a conversation with his master in the past.
