So it's pretty much confirmed now that Kimimaro is Kaguya's descendant

There was already some debate on the topic (they have similar appearances, Kimimaro's last name is Kaguya, etc.) But now that Kaguya has demonstrated the use of Shikotsumyaku there's certainly a connection.

-Orochimaru saw Kimimaro as the perfect vessel for himself
-Kimimaro was the only one who could control Juugo when he went on rampages - and the secret behind Jugo's clan and how it passively absorbed nature energy is still unclear.
-Kimimaro had a "Earth" curse seal, unlike Sasuke's "Heaven" curse mark. We don't know the significance of this though.
-Kimimaro technically wielded senjutsu due to his curse mark
-Kimimaro was from the Kaguya clan
-He bears a resemblance to both Kaguya and Hamura (sort of)

hm even if that was true it still doesn't explain why they look alike ----> (kaguya and the kaguya clan) but then again your theory may be true because of plot

The only kaguya clan we saw was Kimmi and assuming they're related just on pure looks is kind of out there imo. It is said that the gold and silver brothers are a distant relative of the sage, which makes them a relative to Kaguya but they look nothing like her or like the sage.
-I'm just saying basing it only looks mostly is not enough info is all

The physical resemblance and clan name seem to confirm it, but I doubt the relationship is significant in the story.
Maybe it was only a matter of recycling existing characters to come up with Kaguya's appearance and name.
