OT: Shikamaru comes decades after Tobirama's time, he's probably reiterating what he heard but gossip is hardly reliable, and he was wrong anyway. Danzou and Tsunade pretty much summed it up between them; The Second Raikage got killed and Tobirama took them high-diff and then sometime later on, the brothers' followers "The Kinkaku Force" tracked him down whilst Tobirama was with his subordinates, and put a seemingly tired Tobirama in an impossible situation, one that would eventually lead to his fate.
