He awakened the Sharingan when he was 8 years old. It is hard to conceive how much grief has been reflected in those eyes...

So I guess those people Itachi saw slaughtered weren't loved ones.

And that's what made the difference.

(But hey, he mastered the Sharingan in less than a year, like the genius he frickin' is.)

It's likely he wasn't forced into a situation that was so intense that would've caused him to get the sharingan.

And that was a reference to the Third Great Ninja World War.

Nah, I think the manga stated that he awoken his Sharingan at 7. I get what you're saying, maybe he unlocked a one tomoe like Sasuke did the night of the massacre.

So I reread the databook, and it says he awoke the Sharingan at age 8 (and mastered it that same year, like a boss.)
