So is Zetsu really gone?

It has been bothering me since I've read the last chapter. At first I thought sasuke only killed a clone zetsu, but then it appears that it was actually the original white zetsu, as stated in the most recent chapter. Also the black zetsu was defeated by chojiro. So is that the end for both the original white and black zetsu?

If it is so, I'm really disappointed then mainly because I was hoping to see some really weird abilities and the black/white zetsu working together, combining their unique techniques to do epic battle....how does everyone else feel about zetsu gone or if he is gone at all?

I don't think that Zetsu's really dead myself, for two main reasons:

First, there's still a lot that's unknown about Zetsu. The true purpose behind his creation, the extent of his powers, why he's so dedicated to Tobi, etc. It would seem anticlimactic to me for Kishimoto to present all of this mystery about him and simply never answer it.

Second: if you recall, Zetsu reported to Tobi that he had placed Black Zetsu spores on Kabuto successfully; we have yet to see the purpose behind these spores, and it seems that Zetsu's the only one who can manipulated the spores.

That's why I think Zetsu will continue on! Thanks for reading.

kishimoto like alot of plot twist .I believe zetsu survive somehow by his root cells in the ground.We never seen white and black ZETSU in full battle mode

hmm good point! I really hope so; I really like zetsu because he just seems like the weirdest one out of all the akatsuki members and think that he deserves some epic death.

I really hope he's not dead but it almost seems it. It kind of feels like Kishi is rushing through the manga now, with Naruto on the verge of fighting Tobi and Sasuke, where is there room to fit in Zetsu?

I noticed that too...I'm not saying make 5 ****ing chapters about sasuke and naruto talking but don't skip and epic battle like with the Edo Seven Swordsmen! come on!.....they hyped up Mangetsu and he was sealed in the blink of an eye by naruto

Yeah It's a real shame what happened to some of these fights I was looking forward to. Yet fights like the kin-gin brothers got like 3 or 4 weeks dedicated to them.

I honestly don't think he is gone. The black one was chopped in half, and said 'I can't move' so I don't think he was to worried about dyeing. The white one im not sure about, maybe a clone can fill his role, they are advanced white zetsu clones after all. All in all not one that is around for a while seems to die without a 'life story' or some background (take for example kisame), so I think he will be back in some shape or form.
