Yes yes to become the polar opposite of sasuke who has fire and lightning , he must get water and wind.... Water increases concussive damage of wind release, one of the only elements truly capable of going together with wind and creating destructive force more powerful than rasenshruiken

he's not going to get one. he's in the middle of a war, which is most likely going to be the final arc of the series. when he's in the middle of a war, he will never have time to train in a new element (he barely had enough to learn how to control the Kyuubi, and he never finished that training).

Besides, the water element is hardly ever focused on, so yes, he could, because Kishi paying it some mind is long past over due. He's always focused on the other elements, now he can focus water into Naruto to really get the element out there with a main character. Few supporting characters even have it aside from Yamato and several others.

But here's a thought: if he had potential for the water element wouldn't the special strip of paper - uh, hope someone knows what I mean - that Kakashi gave him forever ago to originally deduce his chakra nature have... Soaked or something? Or maybe I'm just confused >_<

Water and wind would be the opposite of Sasuke's two elements. When Naruto was training for his wind element, Yamato explained that higher level ninja (Hokages for example) train to get their second element affinity. Also, if he had water element maybe he could learn the hidden mist technique to fight sharingans.

those papers only show one's chakra nature affinity, meaning it only shows the element that is most notable. although a person can learn to use the elements that are less notable yet also present, the papers will only show the one which is why naruto's split, his most notable nature is wind but that doesn't mean that's all he has
