The Mayans didn't even predict the world ending they predicted it being the end of this age of humanity and that something drastic would change the course of mankind or something like that. It being the end of the world is just paranoia from people who never actually studied anything about it and didn't listen to the whole story and made up their own meanings from it.

its all bull crap how many times have they predicted the end of the world or look we are still here maybe there hoping they will land on the right day and then claim they predicted it, and if its true or not who has the right to tell people its the end of the world, nobody does as it can ruin peoples lifes so unless people actually ask for the end of the world and if they do just tell them as i dont wanna know when the world ends even if it is all BS which it is

To be honest, my OCD and severe anxiety issues had me worrying about this all throughout this past summer, all because I got on Facebook and a friend of mine posted that he'd be "Attending the Year 2013." I saw that and that was just it; I couldn't stop thinking about it. But now I see that for the petty lie it is and don't worry about it. Besides, even if the end of the world does come to pass, why does that matter? Each individual's world ends on the day of their death and that could be anytime, anyway.

Interestingly enough, I read somewhere just yesterday that the Mayan Calendar doesn't count for leap year and that, if it did, the date of the end of the world was calculated to have actually been, like, seven months ago or something. But I don't know exactly how that works; seems iffy. Leap year adds days, so...? I dunno; the article seemed strange and shady. But whateverrr.

in simple terms the atmosphere around the sun has been blown away, leaving charged particles and magnetic field which are now speeding towards the earth, as you said, 4 million miles per hour. it's been several years since we have had a storm like this. there is the potential it could interfere with power grids , but that likelihood is low. it can also interfere and affect gps systems, and it could cause communication problems affecting radio and satellite systems, especially high-frequency kinds. while it is a good dose of radiation, it's big, not extreme, though. nasa is monitoring it but doesn't feel the need to take any unusual precautions on the orbiting stations. but flights they're rerouting because they want to stay in continuous communication. noaa tells me the peak of the storm could come around 5:00 a.m ., they think. 1:00 and 5:00 a.m . eastern time . but 5:00 a.m . is a good time. they also insist no danger to us on earth other than the communications. brian, it could mean some really incredible northern lights perhaps as far south as the great lakes tonight. back to you.
