So how is Naruto going to become the greatest Hokage?

From where I stand, it looks pretty obvious to me that the way Naruto is going to surpass the previous Hokage is by becoming the new Sage; the real one, not this pseudo-Madara one who only has his powers. The Sage is meant to not only just be powerful, but wise and have the ability to either unite the world in peace or totally and utterly destroy it. Like someone said before, it's been hinting majorly that the nations want to unite and it is all because of Naruto/the 9 Tails and Bee/8 Tails anyway.

From where I stand, it looks very much like Naruto's going to unite the nations as one to bring peace. This will stop all the wars, and Naruto would have Nagato's answer. He would have achieved all his goals. The only way he can really show he is the most powerful person ever as well - powerful enough to rule all the nations under him is to defeat the Juubi, and he'll have to seal it somehow...

By the way, I really don't think he has to defeat Hashirama in power to surpass him. Madara is far surpassed/ahead of Hashirama since he's practically EMS Madara + Hashirama with Nagato's Rinnegan powers. I mean c'mon... it doesn't get more haxxed than that. All Naruto has to do is defeat Madara and he's defo surpassed Hashirama. But I reckon its Sasuke Naruto's going to have to beat to prove this cos I get the feeling that Sasuke's going to come along and troll Madara since the only way for Sasuke to get any hype or feats before the battle with Naruto is to defeat the biggest baddest Uchiha around, and with ease. But I just don't see how an EMS Sasuke can do it.

And I also really don't think Sasuke's going to get Rinnegan. Kishi needs to let the EMS have its' moment to shine, so Sasuke will probably have to use that new jutsu from that scroll Suigetsu got for him that apparently could end the war. But I think Team Taka will have to eliminate Orochimaru after Sasuke's enlightening trip to "the one who knows everything" first if he's going to get to use/take away the scroll, especially since it's Oro's. Unless Oro lets him borrow it lol...

i wish i could put that much effort into a theory lol :/ yeah you basically explained the whole plot since the mention of the sages story

so what about this:
naruto blinds sasuke,sends a lava coated bijuudama to melt the yata mirror and breach the perfect susanoo
sasuke immediately responds by absorbing the chakra and reflecting the blast back at him, at which point naruto hides thousands of clones as rubble,naruto has 3 clones come behind him, one is inside kuramas cloak about to fire a bijuu dama,the other 2 use lava steam or lava to damage the susanoo,and sasuke oblitorates them with banshotennin into a field of flames or something,then naruto(almost dead btw),falls on the floor(part of a perfect plan).sasuke walks over to finish him off and BAM rasengan to the face le end.

Lol that's actually not bad. I would actually love to see Naruto rasengan Sasuke in the face. It would just be the most literally "in your face, you deserve this" K.O to Sasuke lol. Naruto and Sasuke might die at the end of their fight though... and hopefully Sakura sacrifices her life to save Naruto (I know she can't really, but one can wish lol).

On topic though... The Sage became the 10 Tails Jinchuuriki; and for Naruto to become like him, he would have to do something similar. But it would be very wrong for Naruto to transform into the 10 Tails in battle... If anything, I think Naruto will rather unite the power of the defeated 10 Tails with the 8 and 9 Tails to complete and wield the Sage's power. I only say this cos the Sage said one day, (something along the lines of when he's reincarnated), Kurama and the other beasts will be united properly in a better form and I don't think it will be by becoming part of the 10 Tails. The beasts are half the reason for the wars because there's a power struggle between them. If Naruto just dissolves the power of the beasts entirely and wields it as the one ruler in a raw chakra form, there'll be no more beasts to struggle with, and killing Naruto won't give you the power of the beasts. The power would just die with Naruto. I doubt with Naruto being that powerful that genjutsu would work to control him. But if Sasuke is going to be able to rival Naruto at that stage, he really might then need the Rinnegan as well as whatever jutsu is in that scroll from Oro.

At the same time, I just see that as being the most OP battle ever in Naruto history and it might not be plausible. This battle would somewhat enter DBZ realms and would be the sort of battle that might end the world unless Naruto is able to contain the power, or they move to the Kamui dimension to fight, or Naruto reserves the power and Naruto and Sasuke battle it out like classic shinobi. I dunno, I'm just on a huge speculation roll today lol.

Piccolo in the start of DBZ destroyed the moon mid-difficulty with a power level of 322. Which is barely 1/5th of Raditz' power, and we all know how much Raditz sucks

no i didnt mean naruto would get wood style, it was a question of how could he surpass hashirama?
and it seems the majority of us want naruto to get the juubi sealed inside of him along with jinchuurikis unique abilities.
and that sasuke will get rinnegan
