Why do people always try to disprove God? God (even if he doesn't exist) makes the world a better place. Religious people would not follow their rules. Even if God isn't real, it makes religious people better people. There are many ex-criminals that stopped their ways due to gaining a religion. Also, there being creation and a big bang doesn't disprove God.

I'm a Christian but also agree with the big bang theory and evolution. Besides, isn't it depressing believing that after you die there is nothingness? Why argue about trying to prove or disprove God? Why don't atheist let religious people be and religious people let atheists be?

Lets take a look at that bolded statement. It is impossible to name every War, or confrontation that has been started based on Religious views and practices. Religion in general-not just the Christian faith- has been the cause of bloodshed as far as anyone can remember, and as far as History has been recorded. Even today, religious extremist take things to levels they don't need to reach on the basis that "God told them to," or they frown upon lifestyles others may choose on the basis that "God doesn't approve." I find religion in general to be a ridiculous practice, and I am really not trying to sound like I hate Christians or whatever. I just feel like they should put faith in themselves, not a man in the sky.

2. He is a huma and has no authority over others, we just respect his intelligence.
3. No, ALS is a neurological disease, it is genetic, so he was "cursed" before he did anything wrong. It just took affect in his twenties, like most people with ALS.

At what point in that post did I blame God for starting wars? I believe I said people have done many things in the name of religion, or with using religious beliefs and or God as an excuse. I never once in that post said that "God" did anything, because I don't even believe he/she/it/they exists. I just said PEOPLE did things in the name of God.

Sigh. Let us recap. The guy I made that post in response to said that Religion only serves to help mankind and make people better. I countered his statement by saying that people have done terrible things in the name of their God and their Religions for years.
You either misunderstood, or misread the post. I'm not sure. But yes, I am saying that people do terrible things in the name of God and in the name of religion, so religion has been both beneficial, and detrimental to mankind.
