A few months? I think it's actually been a couple of weeks. Tsunade was passed out for like a week I believe. Then Naruto sailed to that island which took a couple of days. Stayed on there for a couple of days training and then the war has been going on for 3 days. Granted, there's a bit of speculation on my part since Kishi doesn't usually specify time but the timeframe all this has happened couldn't be more than a month. The timeframe of Sasuke getting his eyes transplanted was relatively short as well.
