I get the feeling Momoshiki was using Senjutsu with that attack. I don't think Preta Path can absorb Senjutsu. Either that or Sauce was Nerfed as others mentioned. I'm still waiting for Sasuke to use Shinra Tensei or Chibaku Tensei. We know he has Chibaku Tensei. Why didn't he use that either?....yeah I'm gonna go with Nerfed

It's just that the Rinnegan-user must be able to control Senchakra, that's why the one Pain-body became a frog-thing when he absorbed Narutos Senchakra directly. Sasuke should be able to control Senchakra, considering that he had a pseudo-sagemode with his cursed seal for years.
After all, we don't know if Momoshiki used Senjutsu, but I doubt it. Weren't the rocks that burned Sasuke just heated rocks? If yes, then there was no chakra to absorb in the first place.

Totsuka is a weapon from the spirit realm. Spirits and chakra are separate things. Itachi found it. Orochimaru was searching for it. It's not like the other Susanoo weapons which are made out of chakra.

They're spiritual, not chakra. Also because Kabuto was completely controlling him.

Incorrect. Chakra is a combination of spiritual energy produced by the body, and physical energy produced by the body. Totsuka Blade is a spirit weapon, never stated to be made of the same energy that is known as spiritual energy. Totsuka is not made of chakra, so it will never be able to be absorbed.

Yeah that's a good point. That's why I was leaning more towards he was Nerfed. I mean even without Preta path he could have used his S/T jutsu as others mentioned. So yeah Nerfed.

It's simple,don't overcomplicate it,it's because kishi made sasuke's rinnegan to be inferior,it's so inferior that sasuke even can use of the most common ability which every rinnegan and rinnesharingan users have been showed using(hago excluded),to make it even worse sasuke has the path but can't still use it to absorb ninjutsu,he evn used the path to absorb kyuubi chakra moments after he was burned but failed to use it to absorb momoshiki's rinnegan.

When Itachi pierced him with the Totsuka. Why didn't Nagato use the Preta path to absorb the chakra from the blade. Since Susanno and Totsuka are chakra/energy weapons.

totsuka blade isn't chakra and nagato doesn't have perception
