i think the shark guy, the axe and hammer guy, the needle guy, and the paper bomb guy survived....just because they were there when kabuto used ET......unless they were just never replaced

Its not canon Gais dad took any of them out. The seven swordsmen were a dissapointment however, I wouldn't be surprised if he took a few of them.

The ones who obviously lived would be Sugestus brother, Kisames master, Zabuza.

The manga says he's the strongest so why wouldn't he be. He can use Samehada that means his chakra must have been exceptional as well.

Mangetsu was said to have mastered all swords. You can't be a master with samehada if your chakra isn't exceptional.

When this happened Gai was probably 11-13.

When Zabuza died he was 26, and Gai was 27.

When Suigetsu and his brother were introduced, Gai was 30, and Suigetsu was 16.

So, when Dai went 8th Gate mode vs The Seven Swordsmen, Zabuza was still in school (Slaughtering his classmates), and Suigetsu and his brother were inside their father's testicles.
