In ocular prowess byakugan is probably unparalleled, but that is all it has.

no. the microscopic vision is byakugan only.

sasuke couldn't see the nanobombs inside him. that was 4 the readers to see.
sasuke could only see that his body was glowing, as well as the air, from the external chakra color

The biggest reason the byakugan gets trashed is because it's abilities are almost entirelly supplemental or analytical. Yes there is a fighting style based on it's use, but that isn't directly a power of the eyes. If the byakugan had the ability to fire lasers out of the eyes or something, then it would be far more popular.

To be honest, I woulda been absolutely satisfied w/ complete genjutsu invulnerability by hiashi & nothing more.
their taijutsu already holds up well against any ninjutsu, sans deus ex machina.
