There's nothing special about Sasuke & Naruto. Madara & Hashirama had the same incarnation a 100 years ago. And probably 100 years before that someone else, and a 100 year before that, etc etc etc. A 100 year cycle basically. The only difference is that Sasuke & Naruto will break the rivalry cycle. I predicted this a loooooong time ago. When everyone else was like "no no, there will be a final fight between Naruto and Sasuke, blalala, Sasuke is the final villain, blalal. Well, they wont, so get over it. I was right.

Ashura and Indra's story is not about rivalry. It's the cycle of hatred brought on by two brothers and ninjustu.

It's about Ashura who, originally weak, gained power through love and his brother, Indra who had power all along. Both being in a struggle that spanned generations. It's a struggle that gave birth the curse of hatred from Indra after SOSP chose Ashura as the inheritor of Ninshuu.

You call Naruto & Sasuke rehashes when they're doing things that the previous reincarnations failed to do or never attempted to.
