It really isn't that impressive, Orochimaru was only surprised because he wasn't paying attention. Remember he was able to keep up with Naruto in Kurama mode which is way faster.

You could further argue the Mitsuki just looks like a beast and his face seems to be cracking from power like what happens to Naruto transforming vs Oro.
