If he's allready come into contact with Grimmjow's Reiatsu, then he's going to have made an immunity to him. So this last attack should have done absolutely nothing.

Maybe if it was Nelliel, i would believe the fight was over. But it wasn't. Askin is going to stand back up like nothing happened, reverse time to the point where Grimmjow first entered this Gift Ball Deluxe, have him fall over dead like he was supposed to, then curbstomp Urahara. This is bleach we're talking about, it could happen.
