It seems like they are dead, look at the destruction caused by the previous shots. Unless somehow could teleport to a different location then I doubt they survived that blast. Either case, Shikaku obviously came up with a new plan with the info Kakashi gave him on the fight, I wonder what he saw in the information?

Yes They're dead. But we didnt get to see everything, Shikaku must have told the alliance how to stop the jubi before they died and talked to shikimaru and ino before they died. Im pretty sure that kishi skipped it but it had happened as shikimaru was already crying so there was a mini time skip =]

Unless Kakashi get's super happy and goes troll mode and Kamui's them from HQ.

Regarding this, something in particular has been bothering me for quite a while. Akatsuchi hasn't been seen around HQ for a long time, ever since Onoki left HQ, he has been gone too, and not seen on any battlefield. What is his potential? He was with Onoki at the kage meeting, so he's probably something, and he can fly as well.

He could possibly still be at HQ, then he'd be dead, but might serve a plot twist saving some of those guys.. I also though Ao would have a different role than dying like that, but meh, dead is dead, at least shikaku and inoichi are dead, we can't say for the rest yet, but it's most likely that they are dead.
