This is the mentality of tyrants not saviours. If you can't save 2 "worthless" lives because you are focused on the enemy in front of you, how are you expected to protect your village when you are Hokage.

Put Sasuke in say Gaara's shoes when he fought Deidara. Deiedara was the greater threat and he dropped a bomb on his village. So by your logic, in order to win the fight and keep all of this from happening, should Gaara have allowed Diedara's bomb to destroy the village so he could win, thus keeping the Akatsuki from obtaining Shukaku?

After all what's the lives of a few 1000 to the rest of the world yes?

Actually, the goal of Kage is similar to Sasuke's. Akatsuki isn't really the problem, protecting the village is. If it were Sasuke and it was between rescuing his comrade and protecting the village atp he would pick the village. Sasuke would even put himself on the line for that purpose. He wouldn't give two sh##s about the other nations though.

@bold Sasuke clearly would have saved the village. You're comparing two people to the world. He saved Kakashi and sakura multiple times during this war. After constantly having to let your guard down to save two people which means you have a greater chance of dying and your half of what can save the world if you die its bye bye world. two people are not greater than the world in my eyes
