a lot of this boils down to the case themselves. Did any of them claim self-defense??
The Channon case they were dead so there was no self defense case. 4 black men and one black woman carjacked a 22 year old white couple and took them to an abandoned house where they mutilated and then shot the guy, lighting him on fire after and made his girlfriend watch, then they sexually tortured the girl for about 4 hours strait, mutilating her body in horrible ways, then stuffed her into a garbage can where she slowly ran out of oxygen and died.

The 13 year old boy lit on fire was a little white kid walking home from school when 2 black men jumped him poured gas on him and lit him on fire, telling him he deserved it for being white.

The only case I have been able to find of someone not white getting charged with a hate crime was a few 15 year old black kids were harassing some old lady and a 28 year old white woman tried to tell them to leave her alone so they stomped her out and robbed her screaming how they hated white people while they did it.

I found one case where no hate crime was charged, where a white guy asked a group of black people to let him drive past when they were playing basketball in the street and they beat him nearly to death while saying it was justice for Trayvon and he deserved it for being white.

What I dont get is how they are all dumb enough to think the guy who shot Trayvon Martin is white, the guy is Hispanic, he's just kinda pale for a Mexican, yet nobody looks into the case enough to even realize that much, all they see is someone black shot by someone not black, and thats enough for them right there.

I myself am not a racist, but I am against the way laws work in this country. If I had one wish it would be to live to see the day the American government gets overthrown, but I would guess that day is around 150 years away.

dont stereotype. your one of those that think if one makes one bad desicion, then all of them are bad:flaw:
I'm not a racist or meaning to stereotype, but I live in the city, and when I watch the news theres another shooting nearby at least twice a week, and horrible rapes and crimes, earlier this week a guy shot his mom and 13 year old sister because they wouldnt give him more money for crack. The one thing almost every single one of these has in common is they are all black on black crimes. The only crime I have seen in the news lately that wasnt black on black was Trayvon Martin and thats Mexican on Black.

who said that wasnt a hate crime?? who said hate crimes are one-sided?? As we know certain cases recieve more coverage, its our business to make the issue known. I think this was an act as a result of the Martin case. Also, i wouldnt say its to promote racism, but to show this still exist and its tiring for people to pretend it doesnt

You can kind of tell that hate crime is one-sided.

Did you hear about the crime in Tulsa, Oklahoma? Two white men shooting five random black people, three of them have died.. Immediately this was painted as a hate crime; went as far to where Jesse Jackson went there to give a "speech". Even worse, if you know about Tulsa's Race Riot in 1921 which some people fear it will happen again because of this.

So for most, this would be seen as a hate crime. But there was another incident before then -- an elderly white couple robbed, brutally beaten, & the wife raped by a young black adult [there are more suspects but have yet to be found, he was the only one found & arrested]. The couple were married for 65 years & ended in a disgustingly tragic way. The wife was so brutally beaten, she died a few days later. The husband is still recovering.

So, people are asking why isn't that painted as a hate crime? When in my opinion that is more disturbing than the 5 random shootings. Where was Jesse Jackson & Al Sharpton on this one? What about Obama making a statement on it?

Did you hear about this? I have yet to see any national coverage on this.

Regardless, it's all hate crime - nothing more or less. But the media itself likes to display only one side of them. & it's becoming really tiring when I hear black people say they're incapable of being racist. That right there is pretending. Racism still exists today in 2012 which is sad, but even more sad when some think one color can be racist but another can't.

So true. My dad almost died when he was a teenager because he got beat down for being white in the wrong neighborhood. While he was there for the wrong reasons, (trying to score some weed) the fact that it happened at all is bad. Any crime against another human is a hate crime, the motivating factor really shouldn't matter. Everyone should be punished equally. Is one race harming another worse than 2 people of the same race harming eachother? whats the difference? it should all receive the same treatment.

some of those said like regular crimes, that could happen to anyone. This is starting to get people confused I think. as there is an obvious difference between a hate crime and a regular act of criminal violence. Often evidence it needed in order to truely know, such as the reason behind it and the act itself. Now, a white couple being robbed/raped or even a black couple being robbed by the opposite race is no hate crime, unless proven with racial slurs.

So racial slurs are the only evidence to prove it's a hate crime?

& by your logic, the Zimmerman case is like a regular crime as well. So why is it being considered a hate crime? I've seen adult vs kid by different races commit this many times before.

wow!! WTH has it come to the point when one black person is ruining it for all the black community to the point that people don't even want any of them alive? our ancestors fight for freedom and they repay them by acting a fool so they can have more reason to start the cycle all over again!
what a shame U_U

Yup pretty much. When people act as a group they begin doing dumb things. When you act as an individual you actually have to think about your actions.

During my 5 years of secondary school, there was a total of 5 black kids throughout my school. Everyone else was white. But no one thought of themselves as white or black, we were all equal, that's not to say we were friends, I went to school with some giant cu*ts. In my tutor group we had a black kid, during an evening he got petrol bombed, it was never once thought that it was because he was black. But, if the media were to pick on a story like that, it would become considered a hate crime, because the media is primarily a business, and hate crimes sell a lot of papers. Much more than random park based petrol bombings in Cornwall.
I think that some crimes are hate crimes, and it's probably more white on black than black on white. White people are generally more pompous and self-loving, I am white btw, so I can admit that.
