Snakes with Nagato..

The snakes in Narutoverse were first summoned by Orochimaru and has been deemed his official or signature summon.
Snakes are very popular and known summon in the series and also on of the most powerful one.
They very in size,looks,and strengths. Snakes can be as big a building and have a extreme power and strength. Some examples seen in NV is how Manda II was so powerful he was able to strangle a large colossal animal like the Island Turtle.Other snakes can be very small like a belt and weak but they would mainly be used for tracking an opponent. So snakes very in all sizes and strengths. Also most snakes are unable to speak human language but there are some special summon snakes that are able to talk to humans.
Now we talk about there strengths and abilities. Firstly a snake is very keen in his surrounding, they are able to detect live beings by their heat and smell in order to track and lead their summoners to their prey. Mixed that with SM and you get the only way to officially counter a sharingan user. (But I guess that doesn't really matter here) They are also very durable and fast. Seen in the last couple of manga chapters a snake is able to slither through the area and dodge many attack even by Juubi clones also all doing that with great speed is something to be hold by the snakes.
A large snake will obviously be very powerful and strong but not as fast. Though its still an advantage because the large snake will have a very large reach and can attack from distance. While smaller snakes though not as powerful ar much more quicker and flexible. They can be used for close quick range attacks to stun an opponent.
Most notable users of snake summon is Kabuto, Orochimaru and Sasuke.

Description:To summon the creature the ninja will wipe blood on the hand, perform the necessary handseals and then touch their hand to the ground or another object. Though it appears that as long as significant pressure is placed against the blood in some form, the summon will be complete. There can be variations to the summoning steps, some ninja like Temari will wipe blood on her fan, then by swinging the fan the animal is summoned. Other ninja like Orochimaru wipe the blood across a snake tattoo on their arm first, then touch the ground.
Wipe the blood across the tattoo and then place your hand upon the ground, channeling chakra to summon a snake to the training grounds.

I ready my chakra and bite my thumb spilling blood. I wipe it across my snake tattoo and then perform the necessary hand seals Boar, Dog, Bird, Monkey, Ram, and then place my hands on the ground releasing the chakra. This causes a regular size snake to poof in and appear.
Okay sensei.
I focus my chakra and gather a very large amount all over my body. After I know I gathered enough chakra, I bite my thumb spilling blood and wipe it on my snake tattoo. I quickly and thoroughly perform the five hand seals Boar, Dog, Bird, Monkey, Ram, and lastly place my hands on the ground releasing the large chakra amount I gathered up. Smoke appear all over the area and when it clears up I see a large snake .
I focus my chakra and gather a very large amount all over my body. After I know I gathered enough chakra, I bite my thumb spilling blood and wipe it on my snake tattoo. A huge smoke appears around the area, when it clears I see a large snake, I call out to it.
