It works like curse of hatred in the sense the person wouldn't know they're under its influence and also it's the same colour as Susanoo chakra which was often associated with the person's emotion and curse of hatred.
It's possible that Orochimaru reproduced it in his lab as a way for Uchiha experiments to unlock MS ? Or maybe Momo made himself a BZ before dying and now it's doing his bidding.. ain't that a *****
I think someone found a way to reproduce curse of hatred like BZ and eventually plans on using it on Boruto, it will further re-enforce the parallel with Sasuke.
It's also possible the person might use it on Sarada first in order to use her potential, I can see it being the cause of her MS awakening and maybe either Naruto or Boruto will have to fight her under influence of hatred, also paralleling her with Sasuke.
