Great job, they look nice =D (Garp's face was a little bit too bright in the 2nd one).

Edit: or wait sorry it's just my tired eyes seeing things differently @_@

Pretty nice to be fairly honest with you. I'd suggest making new layers of highlights/shadows to give the smudging some more life and depth. Also, Try darkening your edges of your smudge by smudging into darker colours (not by using a soft black brush on a lower opacity). To learn how to effectively do both of these, download some PSDs of smudges on DA or something and study them a bit if you're looking to seriously improve.
