[Discussion] Smoker's DF

There is something that really makes me to pose questions about Smoker's DF. There are things it should be able to do and things it shouldn't.

This image above shows smoker tangling Luffy using his smoke power. Hear Smoke should not be able to actually touch and physically lift anyone. So actually how is he doing it? The fact that we never saw Smoker doing that thing again makes me to wonder why it was that.

2. Smoker is smoke and we all know what happens if you inhale smoke, the smoke makes you suffocate

Now I get confused that why Vergo, Luffy, Law and all people Smoker has ever fought... why isn't he suffocating them? Wouldn't suffocating them be easier than fighting them? Looks like to me Smoker hasn't really mastered his fruit power and all he knows is white blow... thanks fellas...for reading.

Because Oda has a knack of creating hax devil fruits and realized just how haxxed Smokers could be.

all smoker do right now is transform himself into smoke, he can do a lot more then that.
Like smoke bullets, smoke clones,smoke bombs,suffocation thing u said, smoke wall(to block vision) .

Smoker can be one of the most OP guy out there only if he plays his card right.

I think Oda retconned that first pic.. Or smoker had haki and haki makes logia eaters able to touch opponents and likewise.. The suffocation one can be explained by his level of mastery but logically he could do it, like Magellan poison fog and Caesars air manipulation.

I get the feeling we'll see upgrades in Smoker DF abilities throughout the second part of One Piece same with his Haki, I mean it would be boring if he had no room for improvement.

You also forgot to mention that Smoke can occur at any temperature above 0 Kelvin. So it can freeze,freezeburn and burn enemies from the inside or outside.

They never really said what type of smoke he is, so I'm not too sure if he'd be able to suffocate people at will. It could be tobacco smoke or it could just be vaporized water or some magical element that is just that "smoke" and has no properties of it's own.

The first thing, I think it was said he condensed his smoke for that attack?

And the second thing he obviously hasn't mastered his DF. He is only VA, no matter his DF Smoker can't just beat people so quick by suffocating them. He still has a long way to go with his fruit.
