Means something like '**** you, I died but I did something important for the battle before' plus what someone else said. It's easier to take when a good guy dies, they were happy and died in peace.

It simply means they were sure that what they died for is a success ,they are happy that they re dying for a reason they felt was what dying for,HOPE e.t.c
NOTE;even a bad man can show a smile of death.what i said above can also be applied here too.

i have notice when a hero is dying , they usually die with a smile on their faces..

On the other hand.. about the five kage.. we all know that tsunade is gonna revive the four kages.. in fact their scene is not yet over.. so for now we wont see their dying smile.. the point of this thread is to tell you that if you see a character smile before dying. .. he/she will die..

well i see an exception to obito... he smile but he didnt die... maybe kishi wants us to think that obito really dies...

what you said is completely plausible. But the afore mentioned shinobi were at one point or other MAIN characters and had a large amount of screen time before dying. I doubt kishi will kill off neji jjust like that. Also remember that naruto managed to bring Zabuza( the guy who supposedly killed all of the chuunin exam applicants) to tears. Who's to say that he wont be able to change the way obito is thinking right now and force him to use rinne tensei? The question is how will he use rinne tensei? can he use it with only 1 rinnegan?
However, the shinobi at HQ are a different matter. They all got a good amount of screen time and i guess they should die( although i dont want them to ).
