So it had become known half country didn't vote because people like us realized both candidates were trash and not worth voting for or maybe they were neither republican nor democrat and this year thought both sides were worthless

Though I might have voted if it was Bernie

And know what would make my day if this happened to trump and Hillary

He would have most likely become president if the dmc didn't rig the primaries.

Half the country didn't vote because they believed it was just choosing the lesser of two evils. The negative rhetoric was disgusting.
At least now that Trump won, we won't have to listen to him whining about how the media and the elections are rigged.

"Weak" people didn't vote. Not voting is similar to a child that tries to defy their parents, as if their defiance would result in a different outcome. Regardless of whether you voted or not a president will become a elected. You didn't even have to vote Democrat or Republican since there were two 3rd party options. No matter the result of an election, the only person that truly loses is the person who didn't vote. Allowing someone else to decide your fate is low.

I think this quote from T.D. Law works in this situation; "The weak do not get to choose how they die"; in the same notion "The weak do not get to choose how they live".

As middle class and lower people our votes mean nothing honestly. We can vote all we want, but the rich will always buy into the electoral college in order to make sure who ever they want as president shall win the election. As we all should know Hilary won by votes, but Trump won by electoral college numbers. The electoral college overrules the number of votes an elect may have and it is honestly a broken and corrupt system the United States have created since the birth of this country. America is made up of two sections; the 99% and the 1%. The 99% being middle class and below and people who's opinions and worth is stomped on, and the 1% being the rich that ultimately controls this hell of a country.

It's not that smart people didn't vote, it's the fact that too many Americans are too ignorant to learn how to vote and educate themselves more about our potential candidates so elections like this wouldn't happen. Also many don't take the time to learn about the real truth behind voting and the elections in this country. Not only that, if you really think your vote counts then you are foolish because the smart people still vote, but already know it may be worthless due to the rich buying into the electoral college to insure victory for whomever they want as president. Many just have hopes that something like that may not happen and that votes will actually for once be counted fairly. America(ruled by the 1%) have always cared about their own image and not the image of the people.

Good Day!

Lmao even if you don't like the candidates there are many and I do mean many other things on the ballot. Hell you could write in Mickey mouse for some position if you didn't like the candidate(s). But tossing your entire vote away is silly.

Edit

Voter turnout actually plays a role in politics. Should government give af about people who don't participate? :lol

And then you realize that the vice president is worse than Trump. Sit your ass down and accept reality.

I'm not an American, but I'm pretty sure around half of the American population that can vote never votes. So this has little to do with the presidential candidates, Bernie would have made no difference in this aspect.

I think, in a scenario where both cadidats are trash, smart people will vote on the less trash, or will mobilize to make the failure that is the electoral system, more appropriate to meet the needs of other "intelligent people".

Accomodated and conditioned people don't vote.

I'm not sure who didn't vote did the smart thing but there basic reason they didn't vote because they felt it didn't matter seems like it mattered to them the day after when it was too late
