Background: Zabuza was born in the Hidden Mist Village, for his final exam in his time in the academy he pitted against 100 of his classmates and whoever comes out alive graduates. Zabuza was victorious. After Zabuza graduated, the idea of the final exam was discontinued. After that incident he was known as the "Demon In The Mist" and over time his fame grew. Later, he joined the ANBU and became a member of the Seven Ninja Swordsmen of the Mist. After this happened he discovered Haku, a ninja with a unique Ice Kekkei Genkai and decided to train him. A while later, Zabuza and some other ninjas attempted to assassinate the Mizukage but failed. Therefore they left the village, later they ran into Team 7 and pitted against them twice. In the end, both Zabuza and Haku died, finally expressing their emotions towards each other.

Ninjutsu
Zabuza had some great ninjutsu examples during his fights that showed off just how talented Zabuza really is.
For example, during his first fight with Team 7, Zabuza had three jutsus going on at once and was also on par with Kakashis jutsu as well. He has a Water Prison Technique (
Another example that shows off Zabuzas ninjutsu capabilities is his silent killing technique. Although this is a bit more of intelligence and taijutsu, Zabuza can use the Hiding in Mist Technique (

Zabuza has an immense amount of Taijutsu skill.
Let me start off with explaining the tool that Zabuza uses in combat. The name of it is the Kubikiribōchō (
Even though this sword is so big, it didn't seem to slow Zabuza down at all, he could fight for hours on end with this sword and seem to not put strain on himself (unlike Suigetsu). An interesting twist, Zabuza was said to be able to throw the sword, spinning multiple times and have enough power to get lodged into a tree.
Now, looking away from his sword. Zabuzas Taijutsu skills are remarkable regardless of the sword or not. For example, while hiding in the mist, he was said to have been able to pinpoint a targets location with just the movement on an eye. Then be able to get over to the enemy without them even knowing. Zabuza was quite adept to thick mist and learned to fight without using sight.
A bit of a recap: Zabuza was strong enough to effortlessly wield the large Kubikiribōchō for long periods of time, even with one hand, as well as fast enough to match Kakashi in both movements and hand seals.

) and this weapon is indeed intimidating, but that's not all. The sword also takes all the iron from blood splattered on it and uses that iron to repair the sword itself. Zabuza was said to be a master with this weapon, being capable of dispatching numerous enemies with a few slashes, and claiming that his sword "never cut a second time", implying to have killed a large number of people with a single attack.Even though this sword is so big, it didn't seem to slow Zabuza down at all, he could fight for hours on end with this sword and seem to not put strain on himself (unlike Suigetsu). Intelligence
Zabuza actually has a keen amount of intelligence and is able to direct it in a way so that others can understand it (teach).
Since Zabuza was in the ANBU, he seemed knowledgeable of foreign techniques and kekkei genkai, instantly recognizing the Sharingan and the Shadow Clone Technique is one example of putting his intelligence to use during his fight with Team 7.
Zabuza also had basic human biology knowledge as shown through his Hiding in the Mist Technique. He had an extensive knowledge of the most vulnerable organs in the human body so he could kill somebody in just one stab rather than stabbing them multiple times to get the job done.
He is an observant adversary who is able to analyse his opponent's techniques after seeing it once.
Zabuza was also implied to be a good teacher as he was able to train Haku to become an elite ninja despite his young age.

Chakra
Zabuza seemed to have a good amount of chakra and physical resistance throughout his fights within the series.
One example of this is during his second fight with Team 7, after having both of his arms injured beyond use, he could charge against Gatō's thugs, killing many of them with a kunai held in his mouth, and eventually, despite having a large number of spears and bladed weapons stuck in his body by the enemies, reaching Gatō, killing him as well. That's simply unimaginable for the average shinobi to accomplish.
As I stated above, Zabuza had enough chakra to be able to hold up a Water Prison Technique, a Water Clone and be able to do other jutsus (Water Dragon Bullet Technique & Great Waterfall Technique) which were on par with Kakashis ninjutsu capabilities. He was strong enough to effortlessly wield the large Kubikiribōchō for long periods of time
