A little background about Yamato: Shortly after his birth, Orochimaru abducted him and 59 other babies and brought them all to his lab in which he injected Hashiramas dna into all of them, Yamato was the only one to live. After that, Yamato went to the academy and graduated at the age of 6, at that same age. He also became a chunin, later he'd join the ANBU and have the best performance record of every member. He also served under Kakashi Hatake with the codename Tenzo. After that he became the leader of Team 7 and was given the codename Yamato from Tsunade.

Ninjutsu
Oh boy, Yamatos main form of fighting. Quite a lot to talk about here. Yamato has 3 nature types, one of which are a Kekkei Genkai consisting of:

Wood Release
Earth Release
Water Release

Now, Yamato does have all three of these nature types, but he usually sticks to his Wood Release, and I don't blame him for it because it's quite versatile. Yamato uses his Wood Release for a lot of purposes and has a remarkable amount of Jutsu.

So, since I have a lot to talk about here, I'm going to split this into sub-topics.

Tracking: Yamatos main form of tracking is when he puts a wood clone seed on the person they're going to track so he knows where they are at all times, basically he can't lose a trace of them. Another helpful part about tracking with Yamato is that he can a form of headsets in which members of the team can communicate with each other even if they're not within hearing/seeing distance. On top of that, Yamato can also make a home in just seconds due to his amazing wood release abilites. As shown during the Three-tails arc. Yamatos Wood clones ( ) are a perfect example of why he excels in tracking. Yamato can make a wood clone, which is better than a shadow clone seeing as how it has more endurance and doesn't disappear after being hit. But on top of this, he can communicate with the clone from a far range. Also, after the clone comes back from spying, Yamato can extract the information from it and it's like Yamato experienced what happened. Basically like a shadow clone.

Offensive: Yamato has more than enough offensive maneuvers to give him the advantage in any given situation. For example, Wood Release: Smothering Binding Technique ( ) is an any-ranged attack that can restrain someone from a distance, only using one hand. Meanwhile he can use his other hand for a devastating final blow to his opponent. The list goes on and on about Yamatos offensive strategies, it'd just become a bit repetitive so I'll stop here. :3

Defensive: Yamato excels in defensive ninjutsu. We've seen multiple instances in which he's used ninjutsu to save him and his teammates. For example, during the fight between Naruto and Orochimaru, Naruto used a devastating attack which wiped out a majority of a forest, Yamato would've easily died. But he used his Wood Release: Wood Locking Wall ( ) to guard himself from this attack. That's ridiculous, Naruto used a TBB (I think?) and Yamato was able to guard against that, not even Orochimarus walls were able to guard that. Yamato have some seriously durable wood.

Taijutsu
Not surprising, Yamato also has keen taijutsu skills as well, in which he can also turn his arms into weapons to fight the enemy close up. Since Yamato has been in the ANBU for so long, he has plenty of battle experience with some of the higher ranking allies and enemies giving Yamato taijutsu strategies and extremely quick reaction timing to enemies. Also, while Yamato was serving under the ANBU, he had a small sword on his back, similar to Sai's. During his test of Team 7's skill, Yamato showed a considerable amount of Taijutsu skill.
Yamato has excellent taijutsu, but he prefers to stick with ninjutsu so we don't get too much information about his taijutsu. =\

Intelligence
Yamato shows an immense amount of intelligence throughout the course of Naruto. An example that everybody seems to look over these days is that Yamato understands how things work inside and out. Yamato knows how to construct and entire house that can support itself and wouldn't just collapse.
In one instance, Yamato made a wooden submarine in which poured water in and out of two filters on both sides, proving that Yamato has a keen understanding of how things work.
On top of this, Yamato, being a tracker, he always thinks things through, always thinking of the safest way to go about a situation, seeing if he can do things like use a wooden clone instead of going himself.
Another instance in which Yamato shows his intelligence is when he's fighting Fudō ( ), during this time, Yamato was outmatched in pure strength alone, and when Yamato was trapped under rocks, he created a mud-slide using his water-release and caught Fudō off-guard, ultimately ending in his demise.

Chakra
Yamato definitely does have an above-average chakra amount which we've seen because he pushes himself to the edge on multiple occasions. Not only that, but Yamato has some remarkable chakra control as well.
One example that is simply amazing is Yamatos wood clones. Yamato actually infuses his dna with chakra, then releases that chakra into a third party (clone).
Another example of Yamatos insane amount of chakra is when he's helping narutos train and he completely altered the landscape in merely seconds by making a mountain and a waterfall. Not too much later, he's suppressing the nine-tails' chakra with the Hokage Style Sixty Year Old Technique( ) for multiple days, and using his chakra for a matter of hours, for multiple days as well.
One interesting thing about Yamato that I'd like to point out is his Wood Release: Stocks ( ), this jutsu traps and suppresses an enemies chakra.

Small Side Note: Care to tell me anything I can do to make these analysis' a bit better? I'd like to improve.

It's how you teach people about characters*, very nice of you to share this with others who haven't really looked in to further details of characters, including Yamato.

I'm going to be doing quite a few more in the future. Most likely from the Konoha 11, I usually don't like the OP people like Madara, Itachi, etc. So I wouldn't do any about them. But I'd do people like Sai, Zabuza, Kimimaro etc.
