Ninjutsu & Tools Note: * = (Manga Only)
Tobi's Space-Time Jutsu seems to be a Sharingan technique of which he uses from his right eyes. This Space-Time Jutsu can set up multiple strategies or perks that Tobi can use whenever he pleases. He has the ability to go completely intangible for up to five minutes, which serves as nearly a perfect defense. It supposedly works by Tobi sending himself or even parts of his body to a different dimension and then instantly bring them back. The only time someone is certain Tobi is solid is when he's making physical contact with someone else, because in order to touch someone, Tobi needs to be solidified.
There have been multiple occasions in which this technique has served as useful outside of battle. He teleported Sasuke and Karin into his dimension to give them time to heal from their previous battle. They didn't even need to retreat or set anything up, a base all to themselves at their disposal whenever they pleased. Another time this jutsu came in handy outside of battle is when Kabuto needed a dead body and a live body in order to use Edo Tensei, usually people would need to go around and get the parts. Although Tobi had the necessities already due to the fact that he could store items or people inside of his dimension, serving as a potentially useful place to store parts for a trap or surgery.
Although we've seen a few things Tobi have used throughout his time on the series, the thing we know him most for is his Kusari (Chain) which we saw during his fight with Minato. He used this chain by charging an opponent, becoming intangible so he could slide past them, then becoming tangible so he could catch the person in their chain.
It should also be noted that earlier in his life when training Itachi he was shown wearing a sword on his back, which we can speculate that Tobi had an expertise or knowledge with Kenjutsu.
Also, Tobi uses a Gunbai, which is the fan (guitar looking thing) on his back. Although we haven't seen it in battle, it's been shown the only he and Madara had this fan.
There's been a few subtle hints that prove Tobi had at least a broad understanding of medical ninjutsu.
Tobi has lost a limb more than once in his life, and the surprising thing about this is that he's able to obtain more limbs and make them fully functional. When the artificial limb is cut off, there's a white substance along with blood that come out of the limb, although Tobi feels no pain when this happens. Some people speculate that Zetsu is the one who gives him new limbs due to the white substance that comes out of it, although we don't know for sure.
Another example is when Itachi died. Tobi was smart enough to get Itachis eyes and know how to preserve the eyes so they wouldn't become spoiled or not usable. On top of that, he had the ability to preform a surgery on Sasuke to give him new completely functioning eyes, he also had surgery done on himself after he lost his eye to Konan.
Dōjutsu
Although we don't know exactly how Tobi obtained the Sharingan, it's quite easy to tell Tobi is very adept to his powers and uses them wisely, also showing multiple feats that revolve around the Sharingans prowess
Feats: Tobi has the ability to keep Sharingan active at all times without it draining a lot of chakra (somewhat like Kakashi?). He also controlled the Fourth Mizukage completely with a very powerful genjutsu (Never stated any specific genjutsu). Also, he was able to make Konan tell Tobi where the Rinnegan is before killing her. On top of that, Tobi used his Space-Time Jutsu (Right eye) to trap Fu and Torune in his other dimension for an extended period of time.
Due to obtaining both Uchiha and Senju DNA, Tobi has the ability to use Izanagi. Tobi was able to maintain Izanagi for a whole 10 minutes during his battle with Konan due to the fact that he had Senju DNA. The Izanagi was used from his left eye. Due to using it for such a long period of time in one usage, the fight came at a cost of his left eye.
Tobi had the prowess to be able to fully control Kurama with only 3 Tomoe Sharingan. First, he focuses on Kurama's eyes, causing the Sharingan to appear over them, and then the Sharingan's tomoe disappears as the pupil enlarges. After that, he can then use the Summoning Technique to transport Kurama to anywhere he wants it. It should also be noted that while manipulating multiple tailed beasts at the same time, he can not control all of them at once. Seeing as how the five-tailed jinchuriki was able to move at will during one point. Which can conclude that his manipulation isn't as great as Nagatos.
Let it be noted that Tobi does have detailed information about the techniques of the Mangekyo Sharingan because for example, he was able to somehow take the flames of Amaterasu off of him.
Due to implanting Nagatos Rinnegan into his left eye, Tobi has potential to master all five basic nature transformations, as well as use the Six Paths of Pain. On top of that, he also has the potential to summon the Demonic Statue of the Outer Path
Instead of using Nagatos Six Paths of Pain, Tobi made his own. These paths consisted of reincarnated Jinchuriki, all of which have both a Sharingan and a Rinnegan. On top of that, Tobi copied Nagatos infused chakra rods as a way to keep control over the Jinchuriki. Tobi also planted chains that would drag the beast either inside of Tobi or inside of the Statue instantly, just in case anything goes array.

Why do I do these analysis'? Because it helps me retain the information about a character more when I write it down in an organized fashion like this. It's basically a learning experience.
Why do I make a thread like this? Because it's very easy to organize information with the setup (spoilers, glows, links, etc etc.). + Maybe someone will be interested to read this and learn a thing or two about this character. On top of that, I think maybe it's a nice break from the repetitive threads we see everyday. My opinion though :shrug:

Notes: Not too much is known about Tobi as a child, the earliest thing we've learned that Tobi did is talk Yahiko into organizing the Akatsuki. On top of that, it's said that Tobi gave Nagato the Rinnegan as a child. It's also been said that Tobi has some of Hashiramas DNA, and said that Izuna Uchiha gave his Sharingan to Madara willingly to give him the "eternal" Mangekyō Sharingan. One interesting thing that I should note is that Madara is aware of Tobis existence, meaning Tobi isn't or never was Madara.
Actual background begins here: The earliest thing that was shown in the series was that Tobi, or the "Masked Man" invaded Konoha sixteen years ago because he had knowledge of Kushina going into child birth, which gave Tobi the perfect timing to take control of Kurama due to the fact that the seal on Kushina weakens during child birth. Tobi then proceeded to find where Kushina was kept and silently eliminated all of the ANBU guards and midwives, followed by taking Kushinas son, Naruto as hostage. Minato decided to take Naruto from Tobi, which left Kushina closer to Tobi than Kushina. Due to this, Tobi was able to take her and get away from the scene. As the seal on Kushina was about to break, Tobi used his Sharingan to gain control over Kurama. Since Kushina survived this event due to being an Uzumaki, Tobi ordered Kurama to kill her, although Minato arrived and decided to retreat. Since Tobi didn't seem to want to go after the two of them, he decided to invade Konoha with Kurama by his side and attempt to destroy the Leaf Village.
After Minato put Kushina and Naruto in safety, he went over to the village to help with defending it. Before being able to tell anyone what was happening, Tobi came and attempted to use Space-time jutsu to send him away and stop causing problems in his plan. Although, Minato was able to use his own teleportation to escape Tobis, although Tobi followed. Here, Tobi and Minato fought, the two struggled in attempting to hit one another, and after a few failed attacks, Minato struck Tobi wish a Rasengan, and branded him with his FTG, which allowed him to transport to Tobi whenever he wanted. After that, Minato used a contract seal to take Kurama out of Tobis control. After this occurred, Tobi fled the scene saying that Kurama would be his one day and that he still had other plans.
Eight years after the attack on Konoha, Tobi infiltrated once again, although this time he was first spotted by Itachi Uchiha. Here, Itachi convinced Tobi to spare the village in exchange for helping to wipe out the Uchiha clan for deserting him years ago. Itachi trained under Tobi and provided assistance whenever necessary, the two never really trusted each other and kept an eye on each other. Around this time, it's also been said that Tobi and Danzo met as well.
One other thing that should be noted is that Tobi also took over the Hidden Mist by controlling Yagura (the Mizukage at the time) from behind the scenes, which means Tobi was controlling all of the Hidden Mist, these years were known as the time when the Hidden Mist was known as the "Bloody Mist". It's also been noted that Kisame knew about this manipulation and helped Tobi bring about the "end of lies".

Even when on rare occasions where Tobi is caught off-guard he is capable of creating counter-strategies. Tobi has also been shown to create extremely complex, well thought out plans that take years to do, such as the Eye of the Moon plan. He has also showed that when an original plan failed, he's able to easily come back from the setback and make it an advantage. Tobi also has the firepower to back up his complex plans of global domination, seeing as how he could have an army of 100,000 at his disposal due to befriending Zetsu.

On top of that, since Tobi is considered "immortal" due to having his life span last so long, it can be speculated that Tobi does indeed have a strong life force and large chakra reserves to have the ability to continue on, still being one of the strongest ninja to date.
Another example that proves Tobi has a high level of endurance and stamina is in one instance, Tobi was able to quickly recover after being hit by Minato's Rasengan.
