As of now I've seen, Madara cast a genjutsu on Hashi to make him think he killed him. I don't think that's the case one bit.
First you see Hashi charge in in at Madara:
When you see him there, notice he has both his sleeves intact. Then you see Madara's Sharingan re-activate. Now look here:
Now look at Hashi's left sleeve. It's gone. That seems to me that there was a slight time skip, maybe 10 minutes, and Madara had Hashi under a genjutsu. Hashi looks considerably beat up so it's very plausible. At this point the gejutsu will have been deactivated simply because Madara's sharingan is not there anymore. It's either burnt out, or he thinks he beat Hashi(Most likely out of chakra). Plus the fact he would not have been caught off guard by the clone if he had his sharingan, so it's likely to be he's out of chakra.
