I will stick with konoha for now: they held the chunnin exam, akatsuki attacked it, They get requests from other countries and lots more to do with the following question

Why on earth are they called Hidden Villages seriously ? xD

they are hidden in the nations i guess.
Konoha is hidden in the Fire nation.
Sand is hidden in the Wind nation...., etc.

It's not because the villages are hidden- it's because the villages are full of ninja. Good ninja can hide.
