. To put it shortly, this kekkei genkai allows the user to manipulate their bone growth. Kimimaro was the first person since the origination of the clan to possess this kekkei genkai, making this one of the most unique and rare genkais shown in the series. Kimimaros father, knowing that he possessed this power frightened him, therefore he imprisoned him in spite of fear for most of his life. He was only released from prison when the clan needed him to fight. Due to the Kaguyas clan intense desire to kill, they invaded Kirigakure and the Kaguya clan was completely wiped out, leaving Kimimaro as the sole survivor. As he was wandering around, Orochimaru found him and recruited him as one of the most loyal ninja. Kimimaros new desire was the continuation of his masters (Orochimarus) dreams and ambitions. Due to Kimimaros Kekkei Genkai, he was suppposed to be Orochimarus next vessel, but due to a rare disease that couldn't be cured due to his unique skeleton structure, he couldn't be Orochimarus next vessel, therefore making Kimimaro useless to Orochimaru.

Kekkei Genkai
Usually, I'd be doing Ninjutsu first, but since Kimimaros Kekkei Genkai goes so in depth I decided to give it its own section.
What is his Kekkei Genkai and how does it work? Kimimaros Kekkei Genkai is
So how is this helpful with fighting?This allows the user to be able to change the density of their bones so the bones can be even harder than steel. Therefore allowing the user to create armour under their skin consisting of dense bone, like wearing a suit of armour harder than steel, yet it doesn't slow you down at all. On top of this, the user can make weapons out of any part of their body such as spears, whips, swords, etc. Also, the user can shoot bones out of themselves as long-ranged projectiles.
Some other facts about Shikotsumyaku: When using the bones are armour, the body is virtually indestructible. Being able to withstand just about any physical attack and even chakra-infused blades, which usually cut through anything. Also, immediately after the bone is pulled out, the broken skin heals. Although it seems it takes a bit longer for the limb to become usable again or unless the user regrows the bones consciously.
Overall: The user can have an impenetrable skeletal frame, which can resist any type of physical attack. In addition, should a Shikotsumyaku user ever go on the offensive, they could instantly turn their bones into the sharpest spear.

, which means "Dead Bone Pulse", it's the Kekkei Genkai of the Kaguya Clan, a clan that invaded other clans, killing all of them just for the pure amusement and love of fighting. This Kekkei Genkai allows the user to manipulate their own skeletal structure by combining their calcium within their bones with their chakra, allowing them to manipulate the growth control of their bones to their likings.So how is this helpful with fighting?This allows the user to be able to change the density of their bones so the bones can be even harder than steel. This will be a very small section seeing as how Kimimaro rarely used ninjutsu while fighting, and when he did, it was usually a body transformation. One ninjutsu in particular I'd like to point out is the

, this ninjutsu is almost unbeatable, virtually, the only thing you could do in this scenario is hopefully get high enough to the point where it wouldn't reach you. This jutsu can make up to the ten thousands of bones appear out of the ground rising up a considerable amount of height. If the enemy does indeed get high enough to the point where the bones wouldn't reach them. The user of the jutsu can morph into any bone they want and come out of any point they want. Rising up higher than the bones and getting the surprise, giving him an advantage in any situation.Taijutsu
Kimimaro has a considerable amount of taijutsu expertise to the point where other who excelled in that given area were impressed with his skill.
Kimimaros main form of fighting was through Taijutsu, when fighting he showed a high level of dexterity, speed, and agility in his moves, not wasting even a moment. Kimimaro was also able to take out hundreds of Narutos shadow clones without being struck and barely exhausting any stamina. Rock Lee stated that Kimimaro was a taijutsu master. Kimimaro also possessed immense raw strength, enough to pull himself out of Gaara's chakra-infused sand, which is normally difficult, if not impossible, due to its sturdiness. Kimimaros taijutsu abilities were superior to Rock Lees and Kimimaro was on the verge of death during that fight. Kimimaro also had a very strong determination, as when his failing body would be impossible to move physically, he forced it through sheer will, and still proved to be a deadly opponent. His fighting abilities far outclassed all the members of the Sound Four combined.
Overall, Shikotsumyaku is considered to be the ultimate taijutsu ability, which is held in high regard, seeing as how a majority of his sword dances were taijutsu based fighting styles.

Although there isn't too much evidence indicating Kimimaros chakra control and amount of chakra he has, it's clearly there. And it's quite impressive.
