Background: During the time of the Nine-tails attack of the Leaf village, Kurenais father, Yuhi, forbade Asuma and other ninja from defending the village. Some time later in his life, he left the Leaf village to pursue his personal interests, and during that time, Asuma became one of the Twelve Guardian Ninja. In that group, he would protect the land of fire's daimyō. As proof of this occurrence, Asuma wears a a sash with a specific symbol on his waist. While in this group, he became close friends with someone name Chiriku. Later, Chiriku would be the leading monk of the Fire Temple. Before coming back to the Leaf village, he went into the black books for a bounty of 35 million ryō, it seems Asuma is proud of that.

Jutsu

(Anime Only)

(Anime only)

While Asuma is fighting using Ninjutsu, he tends to use his Fire Style techniques, only to be powered up through an addition of Wind Style techniques. For example, Asuma has the jutsu Fire Release: Ash Pile Burning in which he uses his Wind Release to expel ash from his mouth over to the opponent and then uses his Fire Release to ignite the ash, resulting in an enormous explosion. This jutsu is so dangerous because of the fact that the Wind Release is being overlapped by his Fire Release, making the jutsu twice as effective. The jutsu itself also acts as a smokescreen in which he could use for defensive or offensive capabilities.

Taijutsu
Tools

Asuma prefers to use Taijutsu as his main form of battling style. When using this, he uses trench knives, powered up by his Wind Release. This could be a very dangerous combination. Wind Release in general is usually meant for clean penetration, and when powered up by Wind affinity chakra so dense that it becomes visible makes this an intimidating form of attack. By using Flying Swallow Asuma is able to increase the range of his physical attacks far more than what the trench knives themselves would be able to hit. These blades when powered up by chakra have the ability to slice a rock, and trees in half with one swipe. It can even cut through iron. Asuma also had the brute strength to be able to completely block Kisames Samehada.

Intelligence
Although not shown often, Asuma has a great deal of intelligence in which he shows subtly throughout the series. As I said earlier, some time ago Asuma left the Hidden Leaf to pursue his own interests. This shows that Asuma has a great deal of information on a variety of villages and organized criminal plans. Also, since Asuma had a large bounty on his head, it can be assumed Asuma was a very strong target and he gained a reputation as being feared throughout the Land of Fire. One Jutsu in particular fully exposes just how much Asuma accounts for in any situation. During his Fire Release: Ash Pile Burning, Asuma counts for a variety of things while in the middle of using said jutsu. For example, he needs to understand and read the air currents to make sure the ash doesn't just fly off in the distance, he also needs to be able to read the movements of the enemy to make sure the jutsu wouldn't just miss. He also needs the experience to make sure no teammates are in the range of the jutsu, and take careful timing as to when ignite the ash. It's a lot to take account for in just one jutsu, yet Asuma has the intelligence and proficiency to do it flawlessly nearly every time. One small other thing is that Asuma had the basic intelligence to be able to use his Wind Nature to the fullest by using chakra enhanced blades to increase their cutting power.

Chakra
Although Asuma doesn't have the best chakra, he does has a good amount of it, and he also has remarkable chakra control.
For example, during Asumas fight with Hidan, he was able to fight on par with Hidan while using various jutsu to stay on the offensive, while Hidan was just attempting to dodge his attacks. As they were nearing the end, it was shown that even though Asuma used so many jutsu, he was still standing and had the ability to continue fighting. (I may be over exaggerating right now, sorry.)
Asuma has excellent chakra control. A perfect example of this could be shown through the understanding of Asumas Flying Swallow. The user channels their chakra through a blade, and depending on what size they want the user channels a specific amount of chakra into the blade. Since the chakra itself is so dense and thick, the chakra basically becomes a blade able to cut through objects. Since it's enhanced by Wind Release, the cutting power drastically increases.

Yes, I did use Wiki to help me make this.
No, I didn't Copy/paste anything/everything.

Sorry about the lack of information, I just like Asuma and wanted to do an analysis about him. Although this isn't one of my best analysis' due to such little screen time

Why are the people start to making this thread? It is not a bio after all.

Well, I was the first one to start doing this.

I do it to learn more about a character.

But can't you do it simply by reading the relevant Narutopedia page?

I tried doing that. But I always forgot the information.

I tend to retain information more if I write it down.

Why do I make it a thread? I don't know, maybe I just want attention. Or hopefully someone else comes along interested in said character and maybe reads it and learns more.

If you don't approve of what I do, sorry.

It's ok, I don't mind them as long as you don't post a lot of them. =)

But, if you really want to retain the information, you can always just do it on Microsoft Word or something.

I try not to "spam" them per say, usually at most 1 a day. In my opinion, it's a good relief from all the troll/flaming threads or threads that have been made 100 times already..

I've already stated as to why I make a thread here. + It's easier to organize information like links, pictures, spoilers, etc.
