He's powerful but not invincible. Lets start with his #1 flaw is that he only lasts 5 minutes before his sage mode wares off. So any Tai fight that can last over 5 minutes and he doesn't have a spare clone in toad mt to get his chakra back he loses.

It's easy to forget, he gets SM for 2 RS or else 5 minutes is what the manga said. But his clones were the work around for at least an extra 10 mins or 4 more RS. Maybe if he loses the fox somehow then he could merge with the toad sages for unlimited sage mode + their help.

You only turn into a stone toad if you're absorbing the sage chakra. Gai wont be absorbing anything

sage mode naruto owns any leaf ninja hands down otherwise gai or lee would haver fought pain and would have died in like 10 seconds like kakashi

naruto in km gives him 5 mins...also he can max. make 2 clones making +10mins
so naruto has 15 mins in total...most of the ninjas would be beaten...but 3rd n 4th raikage, gai with gates open, kisame, nagato, itachi, sasuke, ooniki, gaara will be able to withstand that time n compete with naurto
still he gets 96% of naruto verse

But it seems like he can go sage mode whenever he wants now without gathering nature energy. His mastery may have increased the time he can stay in sage mode. Or since he can turn it on and off at will now he can just flip it on whenever he needs a speed boost or strength boost. Kishi making Naruto able to go into sage mode instantly while running kind of threw everything off.

I also think that if the fox ever started working with him then he could use sage mode indefinitely. It was only the fox rejecting them that kept them out, so if they were partners like Bee and the Hachibi then they could do it.

By the way I am not advocating in any way that Naruto in sage mode is invincible. I just think that his restrictions about sage mode have changed since the turtle island.

I do not think he is invincible anymore.
