Onoki isn't useless at all. He can take down either SM Naruto or MS Sasuke on his own. Jinton is extremely haxxed, and his ability to hand out flight is OP; not to mention his useful earth techniques which can be used in combos with the Pains.

it's a very good match up as pain and war arc SM naruto seem on par with each other and MS is a little weaker than ohnoki.. i'll say it can go either way but i have to bet then i'll go for team 1...

Besides, both SM Naruto and Sasuke can survive via reverse summon (EMS Sasuke was already going to do this when Juubito put up the barrier). He also already did it against Deidara.

You make it seem like Oonoki is going to do this simultaneously, still doesn't counter reverse summoning. Besides, Sasuke can easily hit Oonoki with Amaterasu, which is faster than Jinton by miles.

Databook has had many retcons, and a humans eye can focus on an object from far distances. Amaterasu is spawned via focusing your eye sight.

So we can go by the databook, which mind you has had retconned points in the past, or we can go by the manga. Which specifically showed Sasuke not being able to hit Raikage due to his immense speed and him not being able to properly track and focus his eye sight on him, which is why he used Enton coating in order to protect himself.

Stop. Amaterasu one shots Oonoki. He takes flight and tries to get out of it's range Sasuke summons the hawk and get close then he proceeds to one shot him. Naruto beats Pain i've already explained this. CT needs prep from Deva path that cannot put down the duo seeing as both can use reverse summonings. Or a Susanoo arrow to plow through the orb.

Pain wonʻt even be able to throw chibaku tensei into the sky if oonoki makes the orb super heavy, itʻll fall to the ground and kill everyone. Oonoki isnʻt sniping anything with jinton when thereʻs tons of rocks and debris blocking his LoS, and when chibaku tensei is attracting his jinton to its core.

Doesnʻt even come to that though since Sasukeʻs analytical ability + SM Chou oodama rasenshuriken > Deva pathʻs chibaku tensei.
