There boss summons plus Swamp of the underworld plus hair senbon and Kage bunshins is more than enough stalling to prep frog song. After its on, its over.

Jiraiya's only chance in S1 is if it never becomes CQC. Gai already showed the speed to completely dominate Kisame in CQC despite the latter being able to comfortably react to V1 B, who has better speed feats than SM Jiraiya. If Gai enters CQC with him, it's pretty much over as Jiraiya won't be able to do anything, at all.

In S2 it doesn't matter since Hirudora is strong and widespread enough to catch and kill Jiraiya even without a direct hit. There's also the fact he kept JJ Madara on his toes, so Gai wrecks in CQC, and pretty much dances around Jiraiya's arsenal. He'd probably outright blitz him once he got close enough.

I agree with this analysis. One small error though is that it was Samehada itself which reacted to Bee, not Kisame.

Base Gai was fending off Obito and defending from his Kamui better than KCM Naruto was, thanks to his quick reflexes and taijutsu skills, actually intercepting their fight. Lower Gated Gai could intercept a Gudodama at the last moment. 6th Gate Gai, dashing against them together with Kakashi, could counterblitz the Rinnegan and Sharingan enhanced V2 that were troubling KCM Naruto and Bee and land a lot of hits on them, and then fend off the Six Tails; in 6th Gate he also speedblitzed Kisame like a fodder. 7th Gate Gai pressured SM Juubi jinchuriki Madara with his speedy rush and no-stop taijutsu to the point the latter couldn't counterattack him until the end of his continuous combo, mind on that the same Madara could stop and counter SM Minato like a fodder. Not to mention Hiru Tora.

Basically, Jiraiya gets his ass blitzed and kicked.
