I personally like the idea but one thing i do need to point out
While ranks are slightly flawed over all i believe they work
Also you only need S rank to master the basic 5
Just undertaking training and participating occasionally will get you there
We all had to do it at one stage or another so i dont think the system is to bad tbh

thinking of a way you might be able to impliment it...

a way of working it out would be to say you get 2 'post points' per day youve been on the nb.. so if youve been with the site for say 100 days for eg...if..n when the possible change takes place your automatically awards 200 'post points' for the 100 days youve spent on the site...

after that could do it where your able to go to the bank everyday to claim your daily 2 'post points' but unless you actually go to the bank you wouldnt get your points for that day... that way people who do just create a profile n disappear for a year cant cheat the system

This is a better idea, you get 2post for going to the bank every day.
And if you don't collect the post within 24hours you lose it.
Its basically the same way we rank up now(By post), but its giving a handicap to some members who don't sit on the forums for hours everyday.
I like it I think this idea should be took into consideration.
At most you can get 730post per year

i dont think they should get rid of the system there is now.. just add to it how i said.. that way people who do spend time on here are rewarded

perhaps put a cap on how many posts a person can do per day in relation to the rank you have in order to stop spammers... realisitcally some people spam the hell outa siht

Limiting a persons posts in not acceptable.

The system as we have it now will stay in place, however, I just thought this might be a nice addition to the current system to reward people who have been on the site for a long time. I was just thinking a rank increase every 6 months if you havent ranked up with posts by then.

Note: This wouldnt change your rank in your user information. it would only affect the RP world. I am not posting here to say this will get incorporated. I just think its an interesting idea.

Most people that joined in my time/ a few months after me are almost all Kages...

I suggested awhile back a mixed system, were both the post count and time oline and time as a member would join together to form a stat that would rank people. So basically, even if you joined recently you could rank up with post count but for those who are members for long and don't want to spam to rank up it would also be beneficial.

However, i don't understand much about vBulletin or about adding another stat to each member.

I think that after 18 months one should reach Sage level by pure time factor alone, because lets face it...its a year and a half. Plenty of time to award that to the member who sticks to it.

Another thing though we need to consider is that the number of posts in the forum/site increases its stats on the web, thus makes it more visible, albeit increasing the load in the servers, it actually calls more people to join as the site gains visibility the bigger it is.

It makes a lot of sense.. I joined the site October 2010, and only posted every now and then in the Manga section. Once I started RPing, I hit the game forums, but those got shut down, so it is now very difficult to rank up. Yet some members who joined last April are Sages due to game forums.. I like the mixed system, it awards for being faithful to the site, and lets face it:

No one is going to join the site, go inactive for a year and a half, just so they can be Sage leveled and take a bio test. (xd)
