The base was already wider than many mountain ranges when it was just sprouting. That barrier was already many times larger than PS but still looked like a bug compared to the sprout in the pic.

Judging by the pic, the base of the sprouting God Tree can contain about 30 Shinsushinju on it's surface area and hundreds inside: i.e volume(inside the tree).

If that attack was thrown on the ground instead of at the tree --- every member of the shinobi alliance would have been cut/burned in half. It's circumference is insane--- multiple mountain range easy.

The scary part is that it was made casually while not in BM.

Furthermore, It was made using the four tails chakra-- imagine a attack using the nine tails chakra--- even worse imagine a attack using all the tailed beast chakra combined!!
