So tell me everything you know about life Raiton ninjutsu

... Man, this Sensei thing is tough LOL.

Anyway, for real now. I'm going to First Person RP (trying something different) but if you don't like that, let me know.

*I enter the training grounds and find my student (bio, please) waiting for me. I have my sword strapped to my back like a boss. I walk over to him*

Yo! I'm Souji Seta of Konoha. I swear, you seem familiar... were you perhaps a student of someone I know?

Hm. Anyway, let's get some introductions out of the way, and get right down to it.

*I unsheathe my sword, a nice, stable, strong katana that's a jack of all trades, and give it a few safe swings while holding it in my left hand*

walks up to meet his new sensei.

"Hello sensei it's so good to finally learn how to swing a sword." :p

"Sensei what's that on your face? It looks like a bug or something."

Takezo's face suddenly appears to be consumed by a dark shadow while his eyes begin glowing red.

"Here I'll get it for you."

Takezo unsheathes his two swords and lets loose two large blades of chakra intersecting in the shape of a cross at Souji's face. o_O

(Getsuga Jลซjishล) - Moon Fang Cross-Shaped Piercer
Type: Offensive
Rank: S
Range: Short-Mid
Chakra: 40 (per each of the two projectiles)
Damage: 80 (per each of the two projectiles)
Description: Much like the Samurai sabre technique, the user channels their chakra into their two swords and absorbs it into the blades. They will then execute two intersecting cuts through the air sending two dense crescent blades of chakra flying in the shape of a cross.
-Each projectile is capable of countering ninjutsu of equal rank due to the chakra charge.
-Must have learned samurai sabre.
-May only be used twice per battle.
-May not be used twice in a row.

(Alright, 3rd person! I prefer it that way xD and nice jutsu! :skorm: )

Souji gets hit by the sword attack, his face completely vaporized as he falls to the ground, dead.

Suddenly, Takezo would feel a jolt in his chakra system as Souji released him from the basic D-rank False Surroundings Genjutsu. The real Souji appeared.

"Rather enthusiastic, aren't we? That was an incredible technique! It seems you're already pretty proficient at swordplay. But we're here today to refine and perfect that technique!"

"Give me your knowledge on kenjutsu. Furthermore, what motivates you to gain this power?"

Souji leans against his sheathed sword like a walking cane as he listens to Takezo's answer.

(Uh... oopsie. Kinda did third person without thinking haha.)

"Genjutsu huh. Refine and perfect. Well okay." Lol

"Kenjutsu, uhhh. Kenjutsu covers sword techniques. Kenjutsu is a pretty broad term for sword techniques so it can be a bit sloppier than the samurai techniques. To be good at kenjutsu you have to combine a few different things: you have to use your spirit to aggressively overpower the opponent, you need sword technique, you need to have control of your body apart from what you do with the sword, and you have to use those three things together as one. Kenjutsu is quick to use. I think that most kenjutsu uses chakra to enhance movement and damage. Uhh uhh idk." >_>

I want kenjutsu cuz it's awesome. o_O

(sorry for the late reply ;__; )

"Perfect! You have a good idea of the fundamentals. Time to put them into practice."

"Firstly, tell me about your sword. What kind of sword is it... a short sword? Longsword? Broadsword? Katana? Each type of weapon has different properties that make it

"After that, take your stance... one that you're comfortable with. Then, try and attack me ONCE with it. This training will be a little different: we will be sparring against each other when we start learning the proper techniques. For now, I want to see what your basic strength is, WITHOUT special techniques..."

Souji unsheathed his katana and held it with both hands, right hand above the left on the handle. He placed his right foot forward and left foot back, angling his body to face his left. He held the katana at his waist level, allowing the blade to be angled in a neutral position.

"Let's see... I carry a katana which is a Japanese long sword and a wakizashi which is a Japanese short sword. The katana has great armor piercing ability and it allows the assertion of a lot of control. Great for cutting and stabbing. The wakizashi is for indoor use, can sometimes be used for dual wielding."

Hmm I guess I'll pull both swords out.

Takezo holds his short sword in his left hand and his long sword in his right. He positions himself with his right foot forward, his left hand forward, reaching out in front of himself with his sword, and his right hand up to the right of his head with the long sword pointing back to the left so that it protects his head. Takezo inches forward, sliding his feet on the ground, until the tip of his wakizashi can cross with the tip of Souji's katana. Then Takezo uses the tip of his wakizashi to push Souji's sword off center, down to Takezo's right, while at the same time, Takezo brings his right sword forward and down to cut into Souji's head.

(Wonderful description, I can see you really like Kenjutsu ;__; )

Souji, feeling his katana being thrown off-balance towards his left by Takezo's wakizashi, pushes upward with a two-handed grip, sliding his Katana slightly into the main blade of the wakizashi, which was now perpendicular to his katana in the way their blades crossed. By pushing upward, Takezo's Wakizashi and arm would be pushed up, and the subsequent downward slash of his second sword would be intercepted. Both of Takezo's blades were now on Souji's Katana (looks like this: -|--|- , where the two "|"s are your blades), and he would push forward a little more, stretching his bent arms, releasing them both from the bladelock.

"That was good! Using two blades requires finesse. Two-handed stances are more grounded and slower, but each strike is more deliberate. Dual wielding has a certain speed and elegance to it. I look forward to seeing more of what you can do."

"... now onto techniques! Take your stance again, and slash me with a series of strikes, finishing your combination off with a large, final slash! I will attempt to defend... but come at me with the intent to kill."

Souji took his stance (same as the first post).

Takezo takes his wakizashi and throws it so that it flies through the air and impales a giant bug, sticking it to a tree branch. Takezo lunges forward with the katana in his right hand. He moves forward while executing several downward slashes at different angles and then switching to some upward and then some horizontal slashes. Then after that he follows it up by lifting the sword up above his head and executing a powerful downward slash. o_O

Keeping his sword close to his body, Souji blocks each downward strike such that his blade is always perpendicular to Takezo's, regardless of striking angle. His student attack with a youthful fury... relatively one-dimensional, but his technique was great. With the final strike, Souji blocked the downward slash and allowed Takezo's downward momentum to follow through, with Souji allowing his blade to slide across Takezo's, releasing it from the clash as his student's blade met the ground.

"Not bad at all. Next! Try and punch me a couple of times and afterward, slash twice to finish me off. Take note where you strike, how you strike, and what the intention of each of your attacks is!"

Takezo runs forward at Souji and holds his sword in his right hand while he moves his left side forward to execute three quick jabs at Souji's torso with the left hand. After that Takezo ducks to Souji's right side and executes another trio of jabs. Finally, Takezo places both hands holding onto the katana and makes to downward slashes at Souji to finish things off.

As Takezo charges, Souji quicksteps back in response, such that the initial jabs performed by Takezo still connect to his torso, but since both bodies were moving in the same direction, the impact is dulled somewhat. When Takezo maneuvers to the right, Souji shifts his body to face Takezo's, holding his katana in a defensive position. The jabs connect again (impact dulled once more since he was also shifting back), and afterward, the downward slashes meet Souji's blade.

Souji had visible signs of effort. His student was fast!

"Ugh... my own counters and reflexes aren't as sharp. I need more practice with freeform fighting."

"Alright! Now, use your short tanto and spin around while holding it, turning yourself into a spinning sharp top of death!"

"If you don't have a tanto, use one of the practice ones I have over here."

From the corner of his eye, Souji saw Takezo's wakizashi impaled against the bug on a tree. Deja vu much?

Takezo walks over to pick up a tanto for himself to use. After picking it up he sees a gigantic monster beetle flying at him from out of nowhere. He reacts to the frightening situation by holding his tanto out from his body and jumping up into the air, spinning wildly like a top with tanto outstretched to slice up the beetle like a blender. Takezo lands back on the ground completely covered with beetle guts.

(I'm so sorry for this late reply ;_; been busy... :shy: )

The beetle guts splatter all over the battlefield, narrowly missing Souji U_U

"Interesting."

"This one's interesting. I'm going to make a clone that will push you up towards the air. While you're in mid-air, point your sword downwards and form a drilling motion that spikes downward and defeats the clone. This is a good jutsu to defend yourself if you ever get caught or thrown upward! Plus, it shortens the period of time between your vulnerability and safety by using speed to quickly regain your footing."

Souji makes a Shadow Clone that bear hugs Takezo and throws him up in the air with almost unnecessary strength.

Once Takezo is thrown up into the air he takes his sword and twirls it around in circles above his head, behind his back, under his legs and all around himself. After that he tosses the sword into the air and then catches it in a reverse handed grip and then holds it in front of himself with both hands, blade pointing down. Takezo falls back down to earth and stabs his sword down into the clone, forcing it to disperse while Takezo lands on the ground on his feet. :p

(Exams next week. I have no other excuse ;-; )

"Perfect. Now for the B-ranks!"

"Rush up towards one of my clones and hit them with your sword handle. This is a maneuver commonly known as a 'pommel strike'. Then, kick them several times, launching them into the air. As your target falls downward, position yourself in such a way where you deliver a final punch that slams them towards an obstacle! If there's no obstacle... this jutsu has no finisher. So make sure of that, ok?"

"I like this jutsu because it combines taijutsu and kenjutsu. You really can't use one without the other in certain combinations."

Takezo... I mean Byakuya bolts forward at a clone and draws his blade out, striking forward with the sword's pommel causing them to stagger back. After that he hops forward and sends three jab like kicks forward into the clone's torso with his right leg before spinning around counter clockwise and kicking up into the clone's stomach with his left leg, sending them flying up into the air. Byakuya sprints forward to meet the clone as he falls to the ground by meeting his fist with the clone's face, sending him flying violently into a smooth colorful boulder. The boulder was not just any ordinary boulder however, it was a giant beetle which had been peacefully nibbling on some leaves before it was crushed by the force generated from Byakuya's punch transferred through the clone's fall, leaving a mess of beetle guts everywhere.

I've been gone for a while, I'm sorry about that.

Here's a set of three jutsus. Just give me your thoughts and insights on each of them. Think of it as a "free round" of techniques; we can continue in character afterwards.

Let me know if you have questions! Perform them for me too, please :)

(Rensei Shinkuken) โ€“ Drilling Crimson Blade
Rank: B
Type: Attack
Range: Short
Chakra cost: 20
Damage points: 40
Description: The user takes out their blade and channels chakra into it. They then run towards the opponent, slashing them upwards into the air and then appear above him/her, and deliver a sharp, drilling slash down upon them, impelling them into the ground.

(Suraisu Shinku no Nami) - Slicing Crimson Wave
Rank: B
Type: Offensive
Range: Mid
Chakra cost: 20
Damage points: 40
Description: The user does a simple cresent-shaped slash at the opponent, expelling a red chakra wave.

(Kusanagi no Tsurugi: Chidorigatana) - Grass Cutter Sword: One Thousand Birds Katana
Rank: B
Type: Supplementary
Range: Short
Chakra cost: 20
Damage points: 40
Description: The user flows Chidori current through a katana in manner similar to flying swallow technique. The Radiating and chirping blade can easily cut through steel. Furthermore, the body of the person cut by the sword goes numb, taking away their freedom of movement.

Cool avatar bro. o_O suppose we're doing a drill related technique of some kind. Eeyyyup.

Wan picks up his blood stained blade of grass and concentrates on gathering chakra and channeling it into the blade. He dashes towards a member of the aburame clan and uses his chakra to exaggerate the power of the blade. Wan then makes an upwards slice, cutting off one of the bug person's arms. The cut is so extreme that the person is sent flying up into the air by the cutting and piercing power of Wan's deadly blade. Of grass. **** yeah. After that, Wan jumps into the air, placing himself above the bug master and... makes drilling slash. It impells them to ground.

My thoughts and insight are that I should have applied for mod on the basis of improving the canon jutsu descriptions. Other than that it's an okay jutsu.

With vorpal blade of grass in hand, Wan chakra bends his chakra by using his mind and body to gather it and channel it into his blade. He then makes a slice through the air while releasing the chakra from the blade and manipulating it to create a blade of chakra to fly forward at a tree. The arc of energy appears red due to being used with his blood soaked blade, of grass.

Just learned the airbending slice equivalent. Also know samurai techniques already. I'd use this to... slice a bug in half.

Wan sets his trusty blade of grass down for a moment when suddenly a katana drops from the air, stabbing his blade and cutting it in half. As this is an incredible feat, Wan takes this new sword and names it grass cutting sword. He stabs the new sword into the ground and performers a few hand seals and concentrates on gathering chakra and channeling it into his hand. At the same time he molds his chakra to be sharp and... and energetic to create raiton chakra. He then grabs his grass cutting sword and channels the ration chakra into it and shaping it into lighting to surround the blade. He then uses the sword to cut grasses in half.

I'd use it to cut grass because it has the elemental advantage.

The very last standard Kenjutsu technique is perhaps the most useful. Use the tip of your blade and stab it on the ground when your opponent launches a Raiton jutsu. The sword will act as a lightning rod to absorb and dispel the energy, keeping you safe from harm.

I will clarify a few points here. You can only channel and dispel Raitons up to A-rank, and they won't work on Lightning techniques that are 'focused', meaning Raitons that have a certain shape or are projectile based. Current-based jutsus and basic flowing lightning jutsus can be redirected, however.

To show you exactly what I mean, I'm going to attack you with a Chidori Nagashi, a free-flowing lightning current. Use that last technique to protect yourself!

Ready?

*standing short range from Wan, Souji molds Lightning chakra through his body and releases it as an omnidirectional, unfocused current that would paralyze his student if the latter didn't defend himself.*

Rank: A
Type: Offense/Defence
Range: Short (Mid if channeled through a medium)
Chakra Cost: 30
Damage Points: N/A (+10 if used to boost weapon damage)
Description: This jutsu allows the user to generate non-focused electricity from their body. It can be used as an omnidirectional attack or be channeled through weapons, the ground or other conductive mediums. Because the electricity isn't focused, it doesn't kill on contact, instead it has great numbing and paralyzing effects. To channel Nagashi through a medium, the user needs to focus the technique into one of his hands which will then be put in contact with the medium and can only choose to either do a widespread attack throughout his whole body or to channel it into something; he cannot achieve both usages at the same time. Despite not having much destructive or damaging properties, Nagashi can be used to destroy low rank earthen and wooden structures and even negate chakra on the ground to stop high ranked earth and wood techniques. It has also been noted that Lightning Specialists that have mastered Lightning to the highest degree can resist total paralyzation, although they still feel the pain and numbing effects.
Note: Paralyzation lasts 1 turn if sucessful but is ineffective against bios who have a primary Lightning Specialty

(Kenjutsu: Hirashin) - Sword Technique: Lightning Rod
Rank: A
Type: Supplementary
Range: Short
Chakra cost: 30
Damage points: N/A
Description: The user by use of a sword can use it as a rod to attract lightning currents that are channeled into the user from opponents attacks and by pointing the tip of the blade into the ground the user is then able to dispel the lightning charge nullifing the effects of paralysis. However this only works on free flowing lightning based techniques such as the Chidori current and not on focused lightning based techniques
