here is my personal review of Sleeping Dogs:hope you enjoy
Story:Sleeping Dogs is a another entry into the True Crime series.but going under a different name since the True Crime name still belongs to activision,the game makes you play as Wei Shen,an undercover cop tasked with infiltrating and taking down The Sun On Yee Triad,but along the way your loyalties to the badge and the triad will constantly be in conflict.
The story play's through at a great pace,always keeping you wanting to know what happens next in the story,to avoid any spoilers I won't tell you about many of the awesome set pieces,but the 25 hour story is sure to keep you interested
Gameplay:Sleeping Dogs gameplay is broken down into 3 main subjects,Close Combat,Gunplay,and Driving.
The close combat is played just like the Batman Arkham series,when an enemy is about to strike the enemies body will glow red,giving you time to counter,and the striking is brutal enough to make you cringe,the enemie types will differ during the story,at first you have the easy low level goons,but later you will have to deal with brawlers and grapplers,and even weapon wielders,but if you are skilled enough you will be able to handle them with no problem,plus there is always the enviorment attacks.
Gunplay makes you feel like an action hero,shooting people in the head makes the game go in slow-mo,ducking into and out of cover is swift and smooth and the guns handle very well.
Driving in the game has a good arcade feel to it,cars are fast and swift,and being able to jack any car while driving is awesome
The game also has 3 rating meters,your triad rating,your cop rating,and your face rating.
Your triad rating will grow the more brutal you deal with your enemies,but if you damage property and kill civilians will lower your cop rating
Meanwhile your face meter is how famous you are becoming,which unlocks bonuses for your character and access to clothes and cars
Graphics:The graphics look very well in the game,water and rain make your clothes look different,the sun and moon illuminate much of Hong Kong,and they blend very well into the gameplay
Conclusion:Sleeping dogs was one of my most anticipated games of the year and it lived up to my expectations,i recomend this game to anyone who is a fan of the series or is looking for a deep enriching story
