[Discussion] Sleep paralysis?

It's not demonic or spiritual. Don't underestimate the human brain and what it is capable of.

There is more to it than it simply being down to the human brain.

It has happened to me since i was a kid and most recently two nights ago.

On one occasion i actually felt myself come out of my body and saw myself projected above. The weird thing was that my cat was in the room and could see me: and i am talking could see me floating by ceiling. One thing tho.... i never felt comfortable with the sensation so i FORCED myself to wake up.

When i woke up i looked across the room and my cat was exactly where it was when i had just seen it moments before when i was having what some would call an out of body experience.

I dont care if people dont believe me. It did happen.

My grandma use to scare me from an early age. Till I was 13 I had HORRIBLE dreams at least twice a week. I didn't like to sleep as a child and my grandma use to scare me all the time by saying "Sleep now *insert scary thing* will come and get you" She use to go as far as banging on my door when she knew I wasn't sleeping running away and when I got scared asked her she said "oh I don't know it might have been the monster because you didn't sleep". Just imagine that on a 7 year old. My dreams were full of demons,monsters and all sorts of things killing me.

I got abused into fear so much that I was scared of old people.

I have friends who've had other experiences with it and their parents tried to wake them up but they couldn't move and stuff.. and when they could finally move, there were either bite marks or scratches on their stomachs and other bodyparts.. Can you explain how the human brain can do that?

Also, I'm still not buying into it being fully biological because a couple of years ago (yes this is unrelated to the topic but it may still shed some light on my point), when my cousin was possessed(i witnessed the possession), a few nurses in the hospital and my cousin's parents said they saw her float off the bed.. How can that be explained?

I can honestly say that though I myself was lucky to not have it happen to me, it happened right before my eyes to a loved one. I am very much a believer.

If these things happen...why is there little to no footage of such events? I mean, yeah there is probably footage, but how are these things covered up by media?

EDIT: People might also come up with such tales and try to troll others with it, like the church.

Trust me, when you're experiencing it, you don't exactly think of reaching for a camera. Rather your first move would be to run like hell lol

Also there are numerous videos about them, some on YT but alot of people would rule it out as "fake" but you'd need to be in the situation to understand it..

As i said i dont care if others dont believe me. I seriously dont have the time to write things that did not happen - i have nothing to prove.

just because you might not have seen something doesnt mean others have not seen it.

And if you did see it you would know exactly what you saw, regardless of whether people believe you or not.

Science says it has the answer and I believe they may have gotten it right, but when you're in one, it sure feels strange and out of this world.

There are evidences that sleep paralysis is purely biological (certain brain chemicals discovered that causes sleep paralysis).

Webmd talks about the what happens in detail here (although I haven't fully read it myself and I am not sure if it mentiones the brain chemicals which I read about while back)

I have at least 1 or 2 episodes of sleep paralysis every week for about 3 years now.Been to many doctors,it's happening because of my medical problems which causes me having lack of sleep and excessive daytime sleepiness.
Because I have them every week for 3 years now,I'm so used to them that I can end the sleep paralysis in like 4-5 seconds.
Process of ending sleep paralysis:
1.Before you go to sleep say to yourself that if this happens (can't move body)than you know it's not real and you should not be afraid.
2.Find a way to end the sleep paralysis(different for every person).
Ex: 1.Close and open your eyes many times.
2.It's not true that you can't move every part of your body,in fact you can move an extremity,mostly a finger or a toe.(by doing this you will end sleep paralysis)
3.Try to move your lips and facial muscles.
4.If you are a religious person,saying a pray may work for you.
Tips:
Control your breathing.Do not panic.Breathe slowly,do not watch what's happening around you,focus on the things above and you'll be fine.

It's very scary tbh. I experience it a lot. Even when you know it's a dream it's scary. Sometimes you can control it and it's fun but it's hard to control. I gained access to it once only. It's just mind game that's what I believe. When the mind is ready to function but body isn't sleep paralysis happens.
