[Question] Skin bios

The integrity and importance of any canon bio would be wasted. I would not like seeing any guy throwing snakes from their mouth because I love ORO.

There is no such thing as a skin bio. This has been suggested several times before and I think it's now the third time I have to explain this. What you describe are customs bios. How is a canon bio where you change the looks, personality and history from, a skin? What's left then? Right, abilities. The fact that you're still talking after all this time about "skins" says enough. These skins are nothing more than a front, a veil to mask what they really are: custom bios with abilities that are restricted to canon bios.

As we say in dutch you have to call a cat a cat. You are asking for custom bios with canon abilities, which I'm never going to allow. The amount of abilities that can be used has only increased throughout the years, so it's not like there's any shortage of them for you to use. So all that stuff about it's going to give more depth is a joke. Just having certain abilities be restricted to specific characters is one of the most effective restrictions there is as many people call it quits when they don't like the character.

However the people who do bother to make the bios and keep them for a long duration of time have an exponential higher chance of being allowed to make a custom bio with it because they have shown dedication. These would not be skin bios, but real custom bios. Logically I only give away such permissions in very rare cases. People who give up on an ability just because of the character that's only allowed to use it, this while they already can choose from countless of other abilities, are not going to give any depth to the RP. Especially not when these people keep using the same cheap trick.

Skin Bios is already an implemented feature. There's a Crocodile bio which is basically a skin for Gaara's Sand and there's Yoanna, a skin for Konan's Paper. I believe is a sort of prize for wining Sensei of the Month. It's a really hard prize to get, so I guess one could argue that it could be less difficult, then again, it would lose it's prestige.

These are not skin bios. As I explained these are on all fronts custom bios. When I gave the permission for that Paper bio it was not for a Konan bio that looks different, but a 100% genuine custom bio. I'm pretty sure I even said that that it had to be explained in the bio properly how Paper was learned and the connection with Konan without conflicting the canon plot.

Who cares about canons ? Only new people who have no posts and experience and about OP bios like Madara, Sasuke, Naruto and other strong canon bios but I'm sure that "Cali is already looking into it and trying to search for a possibility to make them available" like he does with every good suggestion that coincidentally doesn't get implemented on the RP

The option already exists, I can give people special permission, I don't need to search for any kind of possibility. If you people would even put 1% of the effort you use to whine about me declining your suggestions and use it to actually work on your suggestions, at least some of them would be worthwhile to read. Instead someone makes a shallow suggestion, gets declined and explained why. Someone makes later on the exact same suggestion and I have to explain again the same thing. Now someone for the third time suggests this, completely identical to the previous two times and I have to explain it yet again.

It's not my fault that some people don't bother thinking things through and that I have to do the thinking for them.

I could also just transform into Naruto Uzumaki, but that wouldn't change my bio.
This is really really easy to implement and it'd add another dimension to the members' canon biographies. I can't possibly be the only guy who's tired of watching Nagato Uzumaki from Sunagakure clash with Mei Terumi from Iwa only to get interrupted by Nagato #2 from Konoha.
The rule would allow people some creative space with their canon biographies. Right now you have to choose between having cool, character-bound abilities or creating your own character. Why not both?

Dimension? You just murdered all the canon characters. You can laugh all day about how much our RP 'tries' to resemble the real Narutoverse, it has always been a balancing exercise as making an identical copy wouldn't work, however the Narutoverse is still very well the origin of our RP. So it's rather a contradiction that you're talking about other "dimensions" while you're completely denying the origin of the RPG you're playing.

I've always disliked the idea of these 'Skins'. Don't know, feels like we're attempting to remove the canon aspect of the RP altogether, we already have very little of it. We should let the special bios remain..special. Plus, skins already exist as Lili and LoK pointed out, simply hard to get as it takes time and dedication to the canon ability you want on a custom character.

@Bold, no one is being prohibited of making the bio they want. You're asking for the character-bound abilities to be spread around for custom biographies. That, from my point of view, does devalue canon biographies. Who says? the very act of tossing their abilities to a custom bio says so, why make the canon one when I can put Rinnegan on my made up bio? <<< devaluation. Anyhow, that's just my take on the matter, personally I wouldn't pursue this ideal even if they let me put a Bijuu in one of my custom bios. Haha.
