Okay so this is going to hopefully be a short and sweet thread. I got to thinking the other night about the Sage of the 6th Paths and how Naruto is more than likely his reincarnation (or some variation thereof). We all know that Kishi loves to throw hidden symbolism and obscure hints into the manga. One of those things could be the comparisons of Naruto to other people throughout the manga/anime. These comparisons might be a literal description of the 6 paths.

Path #1
Hashirama Senju-
Since his debut in the War Arc, Hashirama has illustrated many similarities between himself and Naruto. His own brother, Tobirama, has voiced as much (whether it be mentally or verbally) and has expressed some concern over it. Unlike many of the others below, Hashirama was able to see his dream fulfilled to a large extent. But he has also had a major failure in that he was unable to convince Madara to stay in the village and partake in his vision of peace. Because of this, Hashirama can be deemed as the foundation path of duality.

Path #2
Dan Kato-
Like many of the others mentioned here, Dan wanted to become Hokage to protect the village from pain and suffering. He was very adept as a ninja and very wise for his age. Dan is the path of justice.

Path #3
Nawaki Senju-
Not much is known about Nawaki. He is mainly known for sharing personality traits with Naruto, as well as the desire to become Hokage. Tsunade has even mentioned a slight physical resemblance between her younger brother and Naruto. Unfortunately, he died at a very young age and was unable to fulfill his dreams. Nawaki is the path of hope.

Path #4
Yahiko -
Nagato and Konan both note the similarities between Naruto and Yahiko. They recognize Naruto as having the same spirit, will to never give up, and the desire to protect others. Konan even calls Naruto the Bridge to Peace, a title she and Nagato had given to Yahiko as well. Yahiko is the path of connection/understanding.

Path #5
Jiraiya-
Many people have noted how much of an influence had on Naruto during their time together. Some of those traits are questionable while others are likeable. However, the one of note is the ability to use Sage Mode. Although Jiraiya was unable to watch Naruto grow any further, he was still able to pass on the beginning knowledge of Sage Mode along with his dream of finding true peace. Jiraiya is the Sage path.

Path #6
Obito Uchiha-
Kakashi has stated many times that Naruto reminded him so much of a younger Obito. The most recent proclamation of this was in the current War Arc. However, Obito lost his way so to speak and was willing to do unspeakable things to obtain "peace." Obito is the path of darkness.

Path #7- The Last Path?
Naruto-
The one who has taken up the struggle to find peace from his predecessors. He is able to reach the hearts of others with his strong will, unflappable loyalty, and sheer strength of heart/spirit. Numerous people are drawn to Naruto because he is able to relate to them on a fundamental level. Though his story is unfinished, Naruto could very well be considered the final path of peace.

So those are my thoughts in a nutshell. You can take it or leave it or discuss it to your heart's content. This was mainly just a theory on Naruto's potential connection to the So6P. Apologies in advance for not providing scans, but I figured everyone is well aware of the basic comparisons.
