Site suggestions?

Hey All,
I've only been here a few days, but already I see some room for improvement. Namely, I have two suggestions:

1. Thread authors should have the option to pick one or more "best responses" This would make digesting threads with beaucoup responses easier. It would allow readers to really get at the meat of the thread without wading through a bunch of crap. I recommend something akin to a "Yahoo Answers" format for those of you that are familiar.

2. I would like a custom feed on the homepage where the newest/hottest threads would be filtered to show only the forums and sub-forums that the individual desires. For example, I'm not fond of versus threads, but they tend to pop up pretty frequently and drown out other stuff. There could be an additional module with the traditional display of all the most recent threads as well.

I don't think my suggestions will be taken seriously, especially since they may be difficult to implement, but tell me what you think.

I don't think the 1st one is necessary, but the 2nd is a pretty good idea.

Please vote then. If the administrators see large numbers, they may take notice.

To be honest, I don't think they are necessary. For your second idea, on the front page, there already is hottest one, but also the one with most popular of this week. The VS pop up in the hottest one, because people love to discuss why someone is better then someone else. If you want to see the hottest one in a certain section, you can easily go to that section and look which one are the most popular ones...

1st: You can edit your original post and summarise things... Up to 7 (?) days after the thread is made. After that I guess it's out of your hands forever.

2nd: All forums support RSS. Learn how to use it and you might find it much easier to manage than something on the homepage.

I really don't think that the first suggestion is really that much necessary, but the second one is a great suggestion ^^
