I guess he has not been socializing much for last few centuries... and is current circumstances are certainly not a favourbale occasion.

Everything about him is on another plane.. he is different than the living people currently and his reactions to the whole situation and expressions are the result of it. He is not mad of course just thoughtful and serious .
