Ok, this was a tutorial I made long ago when I first learned the steps through Photoshop.

This thread is especially for BadBoy M but it's also for anyone who wants to learn.
Is in my native language since someone asked me to explain the basics so what I'll do, I'll translate what it's written on the images.

Ok, here we go.

P.S: Unfortunately I can't find the pics I used for this tut, but try looking for Denise Richards on Google and you'll probably find the pics as well.

You must be registered for see images

So, we have Layer 1 and Layer 2. (File - Open - Select Images)

What we do next is SELECT LAYER 2.

Then we go with the mouse on the Background and select it - as shown in the image.

We hold pressed Left click and drag Layer 2 in the box of Layer 1.

When you drag them, a rectangualr image appears as you see in the image.

Well, after you have done this, you have 2 solutions!

Solution 1

You erase the layer margins with the help of Layer Mask function.

Layer - Layer Mask - Reveal All. (as in the image)

As shown in the image, you do on the tool box and select the Brush Tool.

Then you go down and have the foreground colour and background colour.

The background colour always has to be BLACK! - the lower rectangle.

The foreground colour (upper rectangle), in order to delete better, has to be black, but you can always play with it's variations, meaning:

WHITE: It brings you back the initial edges

GRAYS: Detele the edges but not fully.

BLACK: Fully deletes the edges.

When you do by the Layer Mask Techinque, at the end it will be like this:

Solution 2:

Select the layer you dragged in and then change the layer mode which best suits your collage.

Hope this was pretty useful.
That's how I learned Photoshop at the beginning. Then I started to play with all the buttons, on the principle: "Uuuh, what does this button do?" xd

And in the end it got me here.

Try anything, a ny button until you'll see what it does. I believe that learning from your curiosity/mistakes is better than any tutorial.
At least that's how it worked with me. :)

Hope it will be usefull for someone

If you don't understand something, just ask. :)
